Last paper tomorrow!!

Stats paper today was do-able but i didn't have enough time to finish! Urgh. I'm upset with myself. It was the same situation for my public finance paper on saturday too. :( I hope i still get my desired grades for these 2 papers...okay i know i shouldn't be brooding too much because it's already over but i can't help it! I need to be writing faster. Bleh.

And of all time, i was sick yesterday. Zzz. Down with food poisoning coupled with slight fever so i was resting/sleeping more than i should be studying. Sigh. I reckon it was dinner from the soup spoon on saturday night. I'm definitely gonna have a phobia of the food there now. =x And i absolutely dislike taking medicine. I had to see a doctor yesterday because it's the exam period i had to get my body well again in the shortest possible time. Thankfully i'm feeling better today although i'm still on medication.

Ohh. And i've already collected this year's stand chart racepack. They gave a cheapo drawstring bag it's the same type as this year's nike run bag! I don't like the bag! There ain't much goodies inside the bag either, though i must say the design of the running singlet is not bad..

First paper completed yesterday, 3 more to go!

Yesterday's GEK1535 paper wasn't easy though, because they asked questions which I didn't prepare for. Questions asked included: Which year to the london smog occur? Who won the nobel prize for peace in 2007 together with Al Gore? Whenever I came across these out-of-the-blue questions it just disrupted my momentum in completing the 100mcqs. Sigh. The answers could be found inside the lecture notes, but I didn't specifically remember the details because i felt that this being a atmospheric chemistry module, such details wasn't important. I thought wrong. There's just too much content covered in this module that i didn't know exactly what to sieve through and missed out some information. And I rushed through the last few questions because they weren't enough time already. :( Hopefully I can get an average grade for this module!

Then there's this group of chinese scholars (at least I assume that they scholars because they're taking the same module as us but they're not nus students and are younger than us) who started talking after the exam scripts were collected. The entire batch were sitting together so you could hear the amount of noise that those people were making in the midst of the quiet exam hall. They were totally oblivious to their surroundings. We were waiting patiently and QUIETLY for the examiners to count the exam scripts but those chinese scholars already started talking away. It's as though they have no respect for the examiners nor the conduct of the examination, leaving me quite irritated. I was so tempted to ask the entire batch to shut their mouths but just didn't have the courage. Haa.

Muscle ache AGAIN from gyming yesterday. zZz. I should try and gym twice a week after exams end. Sigh. Haven't ran at all this week. Suddenly the motivation to run/prepare for next sunday's marathon has disappeared.

And I'm so not productive in my mugging today. :( BUCK UP BUCK UP.

MIDNIGHT!/ Thursday, November 19, 2009

At my last makeup EC3102 lecture (sometime last week), a particular student suddenly gave a loud scream in the relatively silent lecture theatre, save for the lecture's voice. We were all stunned and turned our heads towards the direction where the sound was heard. Apparently, the student had fits and he had collapsed onto the ground. Like many others, I just stared, unsure of what to do, how to react. Many of us were shocked and curious. Then 1 brave soul went to enquire if the guy was alright. The lecturer too, was at a loss. After 5minutes of stunned silence, the lecturer took action. He released us from lecture, having recognised that we wouldn't be in the mood to listen to him lecture any further. How true. What a dramatic way of ending lecture.

Ashamed of being first aid certified but not being able to render any aid to the victim for fear that I give the wrong first aid treatment, I went home and flipped through my first aid manual. We do not need to touch the guy having fits, as long as he is in a safe/danger-free location. One shouldn't attempt to constrict his movements either, unless he tries to bite his tongue. Even then, place a cloth, not a spoon nor anything hard into his mouth. Experiencing the situation firsthand has made me realise that I should be constantly reading up on my first aid skills, so that I would know what to do such something unfortunate happen. It's pointless to be certified in basic first aid otherwise. I should apply the skills that I learn.

It's reading week, and everyone's busy mugging for exams. Central libray has been very packed for the past few days...sometimes things got distracting, but I reckon I revised my work more than I would have done if I had stayed at home to study. STUDY HARD PEOPLE.

After doing stats for a straight 3h yesterday, I took a break and watched the ATP BNP Paribas Masters Second Round on Channel 22, where Nicholas Almargro played against Rafael Nadal in the second round matches. When I started watching the match, Almargo had already won the first set, 6-3. Nadal fought back hard in the second match and finally won 7-6. He saved 5 match points!! Good job there. Then came the third and deciding match. When Almargo was leading 4-3 and was serving, he had leg cramps so he took a short break. Unfortunately, after that break, Almargo lost the will to fight, though he got the point for his serve. One hardly saw any effort in the way he played, and it was really disappointing, when he had the opportunity to triumph over Nadal. Of course here and there, there was nice tennis played between the 2 players. However, it was unsportsman-like to see Almargo throwing his racket onto the ground, not once, but twice. It was really saddening to see how Almargo's play deteriorated towards the end and see his first set win go down the drain. He was probably frustrated with himself over his leg cramps and a few bad serves but he should have maintained his composure. And that's where I give credit to Nadal, for keeping his cool, even when he lost the first set and was lagging behind at the 3rd set 1-3 before he chased up the score. At the end of the day, the determined mind, coupled with fitness, will bring one far. And no, I didn't watch the entire 3h15min match. Even when I started watching from the second set, I did go back to doing my marco tutorial. I'll feel guilty if I watched the entire match.

My right knee cap hurts today I'm not sure why. :(

It feels like a roller coaster day today! First there was that mini incident (read previous entry) in the morning. That issue resolved, I went to school. I attended ec2303 lecture thinking that I understood what I had revised the day before but I left the LT feeling lost again. zZz. Next came the last gek1535 lecture and then I went home. I overslept and missed my busstop while taking bus151 so I took bus8 instead of bus5 home. Yet, the travelling time for bus8 seemed the same to me when bus 5 route was supposedly faster! Reaching home, I went for my 1.5h run. Halfway through my stomach felt weird but I forced myself to complete the run. And I'm glad I didn't stop. It felt great and stress-free while running along East Coast Park. I'm taking a break from revising for my pc1326 test now..the progress has been pretty slow. Haix. I'm lost in FLHR and RHR. :( And it doesn't help either that my stomach has been feeling weird ever since the run. Sigh.

You know how sometimes you can get the vibe if something feels weird? Well I've been getting this vibe the past few days and I feel really really uncomfortable about it. Maybe I'm just thinking too much but I do believe in a female's intuition.

Zomg. I was panicking this morning because I was supposed to print out our report due today then I realise that I ran of white paper! -.- 24h shopnsave didn't sell white printing paper either but thankfully, my neighbour saved the day!! I texted her and ta-ta! Her house had printing paper. And she was kind enough to spare me one stack of printing paper and I'm a happy girl now because I've already printed my report. :D

MIDNIGHT!/ Friday, November 06, 2009

Zzz. I finally completed and submitted my 1000words essay at 4am this morning. And I contemplated running at 4am but I felt it was better to let my body rest, even if it's for an hour odd. CP training yesterday was draining and I need the rest. I totally ko-ed when my head touched the sofa. I want lessons to end quickly so that I can go home and catch up on my sleep!! My body is probably screwed up now and desperately needs to rest. Sigh. And my opportunity cost for sleeping later will be running 11km. Something which I am postponing to tomorrow morning, lest I stretch my body too much and then collapse.

The next few weeks are going to be very hectic, especially so for next week. 1 project due on tuesday, 1 assignment due on friday and 1 test on friday. All that on top of tutorial assignments to complete + readings to keep up with + revising for exams + running at least 24km + canoepolo trainings + gyming twice a week + coaching commitments. =x I need to spend less time getting distracted and making sure that my time is spent constructively and get enough rest! Otherwise all these is going to take a toil on my body and I'll absolutely dislike it if I fall sick/get injured. Already I'm suffering from muscle ache and possibly a strain on my left forearm. :(

Right now I'm staring at the computer and my eyes are open but I reckon if I go back to reading my notes my eyelids will be getting very heavy.

I'm tired! I guess that's what happens when you didnt have lunch (except for a waffle and diluted iced milo) and then you run 12km and then you gym 4sets of 15 and then throw some ball. Maximum energy drainage! BLEH. Aint entirely happy with my run today although I clocked the distance I wanted..i dont like the feel of my pace and I felt dehydrated after the run.

My 1000word essay is due on friday and I'm not done with it!! zZz. And I'm predicting that I'll exceed my word limit. =x I want my bed yet I know I must complete my essay!! Boohoo.
