MIDNIGHT!/ Wednesday, June 18, 2008

Sigh. I'm supposed to be working right now but absolutely have no mood to. Feeling quite down. Urgh.

I know it's not right, but I seriously feel like bitching/complaining here.

Sadly, I dread working nowadays. Already, I can hardly clear my workload, because of the incoming claims that's on my desk everyday. Yet, others (okay maybe just someone) still demand that I do stuff for them (her actually), such as locating claims and giving me deadlines for other tasks.

With my current workload, I'm barely surviving, yet others (just her) are/am trying to drown me more. Heck, I stayed up till 1am last night, no this morning, just to finish some of my work! Perhaps you feel that what you've tasked me to complete is part of my responsibility. I beg to differ though. I know, I should feedback to them/her about how I feel. But I don't wish to damage the working relationship. I don't want to suffer in silence too, so I'm complaining in my blog. =x That said, I'm also thankful that there are others who are concerned about me, who understand that my workload is overly heavy, that I'm just a temp staff and ask how they can help me.

And I seriously hate the fact that I'm a temp staff here, because I don't get to enjoy all the staff perks that perm staff do. I definitely don't deserve the perks, since I'm not a perm staff. But they should learn to be more sensitive when it comes to informing the staff about the perms.

I guess this is what working life is all about. Everyone is too busy with their work. They just can't be bothered to put in the extra effort of showering love and concern for their fellow work colleagues, until perhaps something major really happens, like if someone is hospitalised. And such a situation can't be helped, with Singapore being such a fast-paced society. Emotions trade off for economic growth. That's why we see an increasing number of people visiting psychiatrists because they're getting stressed out.

Why must adults make things complicated? It's great that adults invent great things, and try to make the world become an even more efficient place suited to our needs. Yet, we make things complicated as well. Where's all the innocence and simplicity we had when we were young?

I actually wanted to rant to you. But I guess you ain't interested to listen at all.
I wish, that you'd shower me with more concern, just like I do.

No mood to blog about my Gunung Datuk trip and the great weekend I had now. zZz. I'm blogging in my office now anyway, so I won't be able to upload graphics too.

:(

But I'm definitely feeling much better now after blogging down my thoughts. *attempts a smile*

MIDNIGHT!/ Sunday, June 08, 2008

Physically drained and kayak deprived. Haha.

I went night cycling with ajcaa on friday night/saturday morning. Meiying and I were the facilitators for group B! And we cycled with tingsheng, jeremy, zhenlong zhenxiong, weihui, charles..josepf was with our group for the first part of the journey too. We started off from east coast, then went by indoor stadium, towards singapore flyer, lao pa sat, sentosa, vivocity and back to east coast. It's actually quite a short journey, with plenty of breaks in between. We rested the longest at vivo and attempted to play some games but I guess we got bored after a while. Not the indian poker part though. :p It was definitely a good opportunity to know our seniors..

our group!

Despite the short distance covered,I was still tired at the end of the event! I doze off while cycling from bedok jetty to macs..zZz. In a sleepy mode then. So I came home that morning, washed up and then slept from 11 plus to 7pm! Hoho. Comfy bed! Then I went for dinner with my family at jasmine and felt sleepy again after that! =x But I slept only at 1am..

Met up with meiying and jeanice this morning for the passion run at east coast park. I think I had some miscommunication with myself. -.- I was supposed to meet meiying at the vs bus stop at 7am, but I left home at that time. =x So in the end, I cab down to east coast so I won't be late.

Running at east coast is quite boring actually. There wasn't anything much to see along the race route, so I actually felt that I was running for more than 10km. 1km seems so far from another! I prefer the standard chartered route better..Along the run, I saw a few familar faces! Jie Hui was there as a race marshall, and I saw yanhan walking along east coast too.

After the run, Meiying and I went to measure our weight at some booth..the machine is quite cool! It tells us about weight, bmi, body fat and our 'body age'. Sadly, we're 19 but our body fitness is 21! Sobs sobs. And I should only be consuming 1189 calories a day to maintain my current weight. *groans* No longer a growing teenager. Bleahh.

After lunch with meiying, I came home and slept again. =x I feel like a pig this 2 days, because I've been sleeping the entire afternoon. At least I'll feel energised again!

MIDNIGHT!/ Sunday, June 01, 2008

I went for my first ever KOP attachment at Changi on saturday! A group of 48 people from TPJC odac and they went on an expedition from Changi to Loyang then back to Changi again. It was definitely a large group, so there were 5 other coaches - janice, jingxin, daron, junsong and ah beng. Sadly, the morale for the group wasn't high, probably because they were in the midst of their camp and they had just trekked until 2am that morning. The morale got higher towards the end of the expedition though, when it started raining..During the expedition, I was the roamer during the trip to Loyang and became the expedition leader on the way back. sobs sobs. I did a bad job as an expedition leader. Many many learning points though, such as situation management. It actually started to rain before we crossed the channel but thankfull, we managed to cross the channel before the visibility was redued quite badly. The KOP had been an invaluable experience gained for me, with areas of improvement.

There was the Adidas Sundown Marathon at Changi from yesterday night to this morning, so we could see the people setting up the area in preparation for that. And I could see people still running/jogging/walking this morning along my bus journey to changi..a salute to those who completed the Adidas Sundown Marathon! Especially to those who completed the ultra marathon (84km)! It's an amazing feat.

Siti, Meiying and I, together with another guy (Ernest) had our 3 star assessment today. Much as Lance was trying to remove our psychological barrier, saying that we should treat this as a training session, it was still pressurising. I simply performed below my expectations, especially when I had to show my skills in front of him. :( There's still so much more room for improvement! Bleahh. Jia you jia you!!

And that, sums up my fruitful weekend, where I really gained so much from the coaches. Thank you coaches!
