AJC track and field meet 2006 today. School was officially dismissed at 1315h, but the girls in our class were dimissed at 1245h. After lunch, we tried training for the 8 x 50m inter PDG race. Because of the subsitution of 2 person, in terms of timing, we would be behind by a fair bit.During the race, we didn't manage to pass the baton properly. Add that on top of our speed in running compared to the other PDGs and as a result, we got last in the finals. However, that doesn't really mattter, because all of us tried our best. We're 8 out of the many different temas which participated! So good job 2706 girls. 2706....................................impluse!After the 2706 race, there was the inter-cca race. Odac 1 ran in lane 6. Odac 2 ran in lane 2. And Odac 1 got 2nd!!!! *grins* Great job odac 1 and 2!!I love you people! *muacks* haha. Regardless of the results, what is important is that we all perform our best, which I know which we did. I got my first AJ medal! *grins* I'm a happy girl. And Cougar is not bad a house this year...we're not the last team! heh. We shall perform even better next year! After the meet, 14 J1 odacians (meiying. henrietta. siti. fariha. rachel. yuan han. me. eu choon. kenneth. vincent. jin ken. jia chang. jonathan) went beach road to buy booties for the kayaking course. We bargined the price to $20 and 15 pairs of booties were bought. =)

JC life is becoming more hectic and tiring, but I'm enjoying it. There's proposals to do, tutorials to complete and tests to study but I'm not complaining. I'm going to enjoy the process! Because it's at this time where you can learn new things and pick up new skills. =)
We learnt first aid skills during the odac session. The application session was scary! Actually, it wasn't the application of the skiils which we had learnt that I got scared of, but due to the sudden screaming of Chang Tai and Teck Hao. I got freaked out! They screamed so suddenly, and LOUDLY in such a high pitched manner. There was a belumut briefing after that session and we got to know more about what to expect for this upcoming trip. And the first proposal submission is on 3 May! We've got to work with this tight deadline..

Seems like the illness bug is getting active nowadays. Yt nad sel are both sick now. Yt got some virus and has to stay at home for a period of time. Sel has a terrible headache and has been vomiting too. Please take care of yourself people..
2706 celebrated weiyee's and my birthday today. They ordered 2 pizzas as representation of the birthday cake(s). So everyone sang the birthday song, both of us made a wish and then everyone finished the pizzas.
After the mini celebration, anthony, jonathan, jia chang meiying, huizhen, wynee and I went down to ang mo kio polyclinic to have our tetanus jab. We literally ran from aj to the polyclinic as we left school late and was afraid that the polyclinic would close. The jab costs $13.30, $3.10 for the tetanus dose and $10.20 for the nurse fee. I guess that the price is considered cheap? And ouch, the needle hurts. The nurse says that our arm may feel numb for 1 week.
Kenneth then joined the 7 of us for dinner at amk hawker centre, where the girls and guys sat at separate tables. By the time we finished our dinner, it started to rain and so we took a bus back to aj to catch the aj idol semi-finals. Chang Tai's a good singer! I hope that he can get into the finals. Extasy wasn't bad either. And sour cream n onions are a cute bunch of people! haha.

I always feel stupid whenever I do my physics tutorial. I just have problems applying the concepts into the problems. Help!!!That aside, today's been a pretty good and calm day. Nothing excited happened...I woke up at 6.45am. There was a PW meeting at bishan mac to discuss about our gpp. Quite a fruitful meeting I should say, as we managed to brainstorm new ideas and to finalised our first proposal.I had to leave early though. Had to go somewhere else. After lunch, I meet up with yt and sze huan at changi airport to do our homework. *gasps* I have to do homework on this special day. Haha. And it's that moment where I felt useless.Lot of thanks to people who wished me happy birthday today! Family day in AJC today. Therefore, there was a mini fun fair in school. Different classes set up stores to selling food and games stations. There was even bungee jump! Quite a fun morning spend playing the games, next to picking up rubbish at aj square. I'm too lazy to eleborate more. =X
After family day, yt, wei yee and I went for the high 5 tea session. Got to know more people from the different walks of life. Fewer than expected people turn up...Last day of being sweet sixteen today.

Ouch ouch ouch! I'm a clumsy little girl. Was running to the block 11 toliet when I slipped and fell and injured myself. So silly of me to be running around when the rain just stopped and obviously, the drain would be slippery and wet. Guess I deserve it?And when I fell, I cut myself against the cement floor. Immediately, the wound started to bleed and till now, it's still bleeding! I think the cut is very deep. Otherwise, the white blood cells should have done their job. Hopefully, the cut won't leave a scar. And there's a bruise! A big big bruise! Anyway, we did field cooking during odac today! Jia Chang was the I/C and I could see that he put in his best effort in leading us in this activity. We cooked such nice food! :) There were chicken seasoned with sesame oil plus soy sauce, kang kong, marcoroni and patotoes mixed with bananas. Joyce's a good cook!! The chicken was delicious. :)

Sigh. I'm in a diliema now. Should I go for the Indonesia expedition? My mom objects to the expedition, due to the high cost which we have to pay for the trip. On the other hand, my dad, though worried about my safety, is leaving the decision of whether to go for the expedition to me. There is a condition though, that I will have to bear the cost of the trip. Whether or not the condition exists, it doesn't really matter anyway. Because in the first place, I have never intended for them to pay for this trip. I will bear the cost of the trip, just like for the thailand trip. They have already spend so much money on my brother's and my education. It's not right to further increase their financial burden due to the trip.If I were to go, I would have to think of a solution to pay the trip. I can use my savings, but recently, I have been having more outputs and then inputs. Another alternative would be too look for a work. But what are the odds of getting hired to work only once a week for a few hours? Or an even better opportunity would be for someone to sponsor my trip? haa.So should I go? Should I go experience this once in a lifetime opportunity or let it slip by?

Although 2706 has only been together for 5 weeks, our class spirit do exist. We go for lunch together, crap together, mug together in the study room, go for afternoon PE together late...Our class has done many things together. And now we are going to have one fewer member! :(We'll all miss her presence!I'm sure that chin ping has her own reasons on why she wants to transfer to nyjc. And she will enjoy herself there. Oh great. I just spend 2 hours on physics trying to complete my forces tutorial. And I only know how to do half of the tutorial. Blank answers for the other questions.Despite looking through the entire forces notes repeatly, I just have no idea how to go about doing the remaining questions. I can understand the concepts perfectly well, but why is it that I can't apply what I have learnt? What's wrong with my brain????How come I just can't do well for physics? I always do not know how to go about answering the question. What's wrong what's wrong what's wrong? Now why did I even take physics in the first place? My physics prelim results was already proof that I cannot handle physics. Yet, I chose to take physics over biology. Not that biology was very good either.I'm just feeling lousy and down now.

I'm experiencing fatigue but feeling satisfied. :)Odacians went trekking today at MacRitchie. At 0645h, 10 of us (may. weilin. yu yan. joyce. chin ping. siti.me. javier. kenneth. marcus.) met up at bishan mrt station. We left bishan at 0715h and reached the mobil station on the dot! I happened to see remel on the bus 410 on the way to the mobil station..she actually joined canoeing in hcjc.Anyway, 28 J1s went for this activity. Kailing, Anthony and Marianne couldn't make it. So we started our trekking from the singapore island country club. Jin Ken, Marcus, Nellyn, Wynee, Vanessa, Clement and me were in a group together! After some initial briefing, we walked and walked and walked. Wynee and I did pacing for a short distance of 600m to try and determine the scale of the map. And in every stop which we had, we had picnics! We just started to take out our food and shared it around. There were prawn crackers, potato chips, sweets, cuttlefish, biscuits...a fabulous spread of food! haha.Although I've been in np for 4 years, I realise that I haven't had the opportunity to do trekking at all. Trekking in np is walking in designated tar roads. Trekking in odac is walking inside the forest, stepping over the logs, pushing away swinging branches, watching out for thorns, observing the nature...Unfortunately, due to time constraint, we weren't able to reach our destination-the japanese shrine located near macritchie. So around midway of the route, we turned back to where we came from. And although we didn't reach the shrine, I really enjoyed myself. Wynee and I just got into the singing mood and started singing on our way out! At the same time, all of us just took loads of pics! :)Today's trekking activity actually made me realise that perhaps, I'm not such an outdoor person as I've made myself out to be. I was actually not very comfortable to brushing past the plants and stuff. Oh well, I can always adapt to it.After the activity, most of us went thomson plaza to have lunch. One group of us went to kfc while the group went burger king. It was funny watching nellyn chasing after jia chang,,Then after that, most of us went off. I went to have my guitar lessons. Was too tired to really concentrate so I didnt really play very well. Sigh. And how come so many people said that trekking is a guy activity?! The people whom I told about the trekking were all commenting about it. Girls can trek also! And a advise to the gers: wear trackpants the next time there is another trekking activity!

I didn't have a smooth sailing day today.Firstly. during break, 5 mins just before the bell rang, I went to the bookshop to photocopy our PIs. And when the bell went, I was still in the bookshop, waiting for the uncle to help me print the PIs. He just didn't see the need to be faster in movements, despite my reminder that I had a lesson. Too bad there wasn't 2 bookshops in aj. So as a result, I was late for the 30 minutes GP lesson and got scolded by mr Akshir.During PW, I got stressed out by our group's GPP. It is just our group's first meeting, but the dateline to submit our GPP is only 2 weeks away. By week 6, we have to submit our first proposal, which leaves us with very little time to come up with it. But, I would say that my grouping is quite alright. Such a coincidence though, that 4 out of the 5 group members are in the same econs peer-tutor group too; shu xuan, kah ho, wei de and me.For odac, we learnt navigation skills. Basically, orienteering. Although the hard skills are all too familiar to me, I did learn new things, especially soft skills wise. Suddenly, I see alot of flaws in my own character. I have to learn to be sensitive to others' feelings and to constantly think about my actions. I got quite some insights about leadership too. Chang Tai just amazes me.
It's not about being first, but it's the process.A leader does little, but thinks alot. A follower does alot, but thinks a little. Being a leader does not mean always leading others, but to let other people have a chance to lead also. A leader has a harder job than just to choose sides. He must bring sides together. No man will make a great leader who want to do it all himself, or to get the credit for doing it.After training, odac 1 and odac 2 went to train for our 8 x 50m. I need more practice!! How come I either run too fast or too slow? And why is it that I can't pass the baton to stacey properly?I'm frustrated too, that I haven't gotten back my pencil case. Am I disappointed with you? Or am I disappointed with myself that I depended too much on you?Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your heats and your mind in Christ Jesus -phil 4:6-7Though my day wasn't that great, in fact, I had a bad day, I'm still thankful for what happened today. I'm thankful that I have friends who are so concerned about me and thankful that God answered my prayers. I haven't had the discipline to do my quiet time lately. Been praying to God that He'll give me the discipline to do so, that I will practice good time management. And He did. Kenneth just reminded me that we have to do our QTs, no matter how busy we are.

=). Odac team 1 and team 2 got into the finals of the inter-cca relay!! Must jia you!Odac ended late today. At 2010 hrs. We did pioneering again. Based on the knots which we had learnt, we had to construct a bridge. Our planning took up too much time, which led to the snowball effect. And in the end, what we constructed was just 2 A-shaped frames and 2 poles attached together with round lashings. The seniors secured a rope around our 'bridge' and we would actually travel from one end to another! Monkey cling! It's been a long time since I last did that...:)Wynee, Jonathan, Kenneth and I went for dinner at S11 after that.He suddenly messaged me 'good night'.

AJC commemorated international friendship day today. During mass civics, the ASEAN and SIA scholars entertianed ajcians with their country's link with Singapore. Pretty interesting, I should say. It ended 10 minutes late though. I was also pretty entertained by chee yong's performance to promote family day..Anyway, after that, we had to rush to have our lunch. The auntie took such a longgggg time to cook our food! We queued for 20 minutes for the food, and by the time we got our food, it was 1414hr. 1 minute to finished our food before we go for our physics practical. And we finished our food within 5 minutes. But, we were still slightly late for the practical. Physics practical was tough! For track and field heats today, there was the 8 x 50m inter-cca heats, 200m heats and 1500m finals. I participated in both the 8 x 50m heats and the 1500m finals. The 8 x 50m was stressing! Probably because of the expectations we set for ourselves? I was the third runner...our team came in third, being slowed down slighly as stacey fell down. Team 2 was first in their heats. I want both teams to get into the finals! As for the 1500m, I'm pretty glad that I wasn't last. I got the fifth position. Am contented enough. :) And thanks odacians, for your cheering.Qn: Why is it that our body feel cold after running??wynee, mei ying. nellyn, stacy, me jonathan, jia chang, anthony, marcus and the j2s had a bouldering session after the events till around 1830hrs. After that, some of them left, leaving mei ying, me, jonathan, jia chang and anthony waiting for the j2s to bathe and settle the miscellaneous issues to go for dinner together. I think we waited for at least an hour. Then when everyone was done and ready to leave, it suddenly started to rain. Initially,it only started raining from the basketball court! Block 11 didn't have have a drop of rain at all. You can actually view the heavy rain by standing right below the sky in the area between block 11 and the tennis court and you won't get wet at all.Anyway, 12 people went for dinner at sumo house. Once again, I ended up sitting on a table with 5 other guys. And all of us saw mrs yim there having dinner with her husband.

Homework that needs to be done:physics- thermal physics tutorial due on 7 apr.project work- preliminary ideas due on 10 apr.maths- inqualities tutorial due on 11 apr.economics- 2 essay outlines due on 12 apr.gp- 4 newspaper analysis due on ---It doesn't really sound alot does it? But, it'll definitely take more than 5 hours to complete all of them; 1 hr for phy, 2 hrs for pw, 2 hrs for maths, 2 hrs for econs and 2 hrs for gp1 week has 168 hours.Of these,46 hrs is spend sleeping.15 hrs is spend eating.9 hrs is spend on bus journeys.38 hrs is spend on school lessons.7 hrs is spend on odac. Therefore, I'm only left with 53 hrs each week, 28 hrs to be spend on homework and revision, 7 hrs online and the remaining 18 hrs on recreation..But how come I can't seem to find the 18 hrs?? Where has it flown to?? We all know that if we were to do everything with a sense of urgency, we can save precious time. And more things can be done. But then, words are not being put into action. Am I to blame or am the people around me including me to blame?I'm just crapping. Haa.I think our class is getting closer and closer each day. Everyday, I get to know them better, be it their good or bad points. The class bought a cake for yong biao's birthday on monday. =) He should join aj idol!14 of us went to kfc on tuesday during our 2.5hrs lunch break. Tuesday was also was the first time that I saw mr yeong flare up. And he had a good reason to. I myself wouldn't have been able to tolerate that kind of attitude too. xxx was clearly in the wrong. And yet, he does not seem to realise his mistake. He has been making unneccessay comments during lessons and disrupting them. And he thinks that it's perfectly alright. Which basically translate into saying that I used to be very stupid. :X

Slightly recharged! I napped for 2 hours just now.=)
Met up with henrietta, mei ying, vincent and jin ken at toa poyah stadium in the morning at 0845h to run. We ran 2 rounds as warm-up, did stretching, some conditioning exercises, ran another 2 rounds around the tracks, attempted my first ever pull up and then ran 2 more rounds. As an estimation, I think we managed to run more than 2km.
After that, we went macs to have our breakfast. And it's the first time I hear a guy say that he doesn't like fried food. Such a healthy consicous person!
So we had breakfast and then after that did some chemistry revision. We spend some 'chemistry time' crapping away too. Then we parted in the afternoon. I went for my guitar lesson.
Guitar lesson was interesting today! I learnt the first half part of romance de amor and then got rui xiang to teach me how to play qian tian. But unfortunately, I haven't muster the song yet. I need more practise! hee. I'm quite happy with what I have learnt today though. Within 1.5hs, I managed to muster what was expected of me and even more. And now, I must attempt to remember what has been taught and to forget them! Otherwise, when I have lessons again next week, I would learning the same thing again.
It was innovation and enterprise day 24 hours ago. So we didn't any lessons but instead, moved around different areas such as the hall, block 11, audi...to enjoy the games which the teacher had planned for us.
My first 'station' was in the hall. We played hopscotch and knight's move. For hotscotch, a number would be given to your group. Using only !, nPr or nCr and + or -, you have to find a way to get that number. Each function can only be used once. For knight's move, you have to use the shortest number of steps to capture the queen. I'm amazed. Weide and Zhao Cong are pretty good at such thinking games. Their minds can think really fast. Within seconds, they are anble to come up with the solution. *claps*
After that we had an interesting nanotech talk. I learnt alot of things, such as: it's easy to break a block of ice but you can't break a block of ice when has a piece of wet tissue. And the many uses of nanotechlogy. The plus point: the NUS lecturer wasn't boring at all! Maybe, just maybe, I will major in nanatech in uni. hah.
The way to bond a class as got to be through the concentration game! haa. During the second break, we played that. It was fun. I had to do a dare though, I lost too many times. The dare: unbutton one button from sze huan's (i hope i spelled his name correctly) shirt.
Friday and saturday have been relaxing days for me. I'm glad I've got the chance to rewind and destress myself. It's good to relax once in a while. :)
