MIDNIGHT!/ Thursday, March 29, 2007

I've been thinking about the same issue yesterday and today.
Perhaps if I were a guy, it would have been a different situation. =l
I think too much. Period.

MIDNIGHT!/ Saturday, March 17, 2007

This march term break ain't a holiday at all. I'm supposed to catch up and revise all my work, but I'm not doing it at all. Everyday is just filled with activities! In fact, there's only one word to describe this month of march-busy.

March started off on a low note. I felt horrible, extremely disappointed, demoralised, saddened, angry...name any negative feelings and I was definitely experiencing them. The release of the chinese 'A' level results had a deep impact on me. I didn't achieve what I wanted and was thus feeling really down at that period of time. I started to question my own abilities. It made me worried as well, that I wouldn't be able to perform well for my 'A's at the end of this year. So I started to neglect my friends around me and kept to myself.
Luckily, that low period didn't last very long. Eventually, slowly, I reverted back to my old self. Yong biao's message helped alot..xiexie! It's really touching to have such a concerned friend.

Sadly, Mrs Siva could only be our gp tutor till the end of term 1. She's s good gp tutor and all of us feel sad that she will no longer be our gp tutor. As a farewell gift, we gave us some hand-folded flowers plus a book.

The last week of school happened to be the j1s orientation II. So on the finale night, there was a 'campfire'. ODAC was given the task of making a suspended structure of the word vrala for the 'campfire'. No doubt, ODACians were successful in making that structure. However, I wouldn't say that such an experience was worth it though it was the first time we attempted such a structure. Perhaps the effects would have been better if it was lighted at a later time and that it lasted for a longer period of time.

During the weekend leading to the march term break, ODAC organised a NYAA Camp for some of the j2s. Day 1 didn't start off very well, but overall, the camp went on smoothly. It would have been even better if the after camp debrief had ended on a positive note.

Day 1- We stayed in school for the first half of the day, settling administrative matters and playing some games before heading off to east coast park after lunch. While the campers had kayaking out at the sea, kl and I remainged at the beach first aiders. There wasn't much casualites save for a few who got sea-sick. Field cooking was next and then came the resting time. Somehow, the camp morale for that day was low. Perhaps it was the mindset which campers came in. Or perhaps our facilitation skills wasn't up to standard. Whatever it was, we addressed that problem during debrief and was determined to make the reamining camp a better one.

Day 2- An adventure race at p.ubin. Campers travelled between checkpoints in their bicycles and attempted to completed all the stations. My group was great. Their team dynamics was wonderful. They were able to work together as a team and was patient with one another. Plus they were innovative as well! Somehow or another, being in an unfamiliar bought the camp morale up and there was this bond formed..

chuppa chups!

Day 3- Night hike. Having slept for only 2h the day before, instructors were tired. The activity still had to go on though. Of course, campers were tired as well, but the activity planned for them along the way kept them awake. Nonetheless, it was still tiring have to trek around 13km to and fro the campsite and mac's. There was a sense of accomplishment after completing the trek..

Back at school, we had a long debrief and then briefing. And we still had to wash the logistics after that. Most of us were already drained during the washing of equipments, so the atmosphere then was tense. momo-ing was wide-spread.

Monday gone, tueday was spent recuperating at home. I only woke up at 2pm! Was super too tired after the camp.

Then came wednesday, where the morning was spent on discussions about the pre-u sem storyboard. In the afternoon, aga ant xf and I met up to discuss about the proposal for selection camp. Then in the evening, ant and I met up with meiying, eugene, rongjie and yunlin to attend a free kickboxing class. It was fun! We entered meritus mardarin hotel feeling apprehensive, not knowing what to expect. Kickboxing is a great workout! Perhaps we should do it more often. =.= After the class ended, we went dinner at cine's ljs and then went home.

with our kickboxing equipment!

Thursday. 'ODAC self training'. We exercised alot that day. Another great but tiring workout I would say. It was quite interesting as well, be it viewing the natural scenary or ...it was my first time exploring that route! New experience! Abit scary at some parts though. I can't exactly imagine myself walking through the route at night. Once again, some of us met up with our juniors after the training. We had a minds cafe voucher for 10 at boat quay, but there was only 4 j2s going, so we called another 4 juniors to go with us. It was my first time playing board games at minds cafe..the games were just alright though. Anthony was super mean when he played the last game! Hmmph. I shall complain to the person who went korea.

8 ppl!

Friday. Studied with meiying in the afternoon at boon keng's macs! It was pretty effective I think, since I managed to finish some work. Beats staying at home and being unproductive.

Saturday. A mentally draining day! I just kept screaming and screaming. -.- All my glam moments are gone! There was just this phobia that I couldn't overcome today, I don't know why. Lunch with odacians at vivocity ljs (again) with great. Plus the picture taken as well! :)
