What does my future lies?

Sep 1 is teachers' day. Naturally, schools celebrate this occasion a day before this school holiday. On this day, we give our teachers gifts, cards and flowers, as a sign of gratitude for their guidance. Many teachers, however, have commented that their best gifts would be to see every student excel in their studies.

No matter what though, teachers' day is meant for the teachers and is a day where we give credit to them, for the hard work which they have put in to mould our character and impart us the academic skills. So kudos to each and every teacher in Singapore.

Mrs Ee, Ms Low, Mr Wong, Mrs Liow. Gao lao shi, Luo lao shi, Chen lao shi, Zheng lao shi. And to all mbs teachers. At the age where we were the most mischievous and have a short attention span, you have managed to capture our attention through each of your very own unique way of teaching. Thank you. And especially to ms low, thank you for believing in me and trusting me. You have been one of my role model back in mbs.

Mrs Foong, Miss Tee, Mrs Allison Lim, Miss Tan, Mr Tay, Mr Clarence Lim, Mr Khoo, Miss Ng, Mdm Lum, Mrs Serene Ng, Mrs Lim, Miss Sim, Mrs Chiow, Mr Yau, Mr Chan. Ma'am Chew, Mrs Choy, Miss Joy Tan, Mr Tan. And to all cedar teachers. It was during my secondary school days where I grew and mature the most. Thank you teachers, for developing my character, giving me the opportunity to try out new things and always helping me in anyway possible.

Miss Cai, Miss Ng, Mr Hong, Mr Yeong, Mrs Ho. Mr Chin, Mr Lim, Mr Ong Miss Tay, Miss Dawn Tan, Miss Yap. And to all ajc teachers. I'm really thankful for the many new opportunities given to me, as well as for always believing that we can do it!

As we get older, why do we become less enthusiastic? Primary school kids can sing the national anthem so loudly and with much enthusiasm. Secondary school students need the principal to prompt them to sing the national anthem. Do we even hear the anthem being sang in junior colleges?

Somehow, I don't think I can have kids when I get married in future. Hmm.

Hmm. Yet another fit and healthy person who collapsed suddenly after running. It's quite scary, to hear of young people suddenly collapsing and pronounced dead, the cause unknown. Why why why? It's a saddening issue. They don't deserve to die. They kept themselves fit and exercised regularly. So why?

I finally watched secret! *claps claps* Fabian jonathan meiying and I went amk hub to catch the movie together. But with prelims drawing near, I do feel slightly guilty watching it. Anyway, it's quite an interesting movie. Kuodos to the wow factors in the show, especially the piano competition! Nice nice. =) Then there's a nice twist to the plot also. A seemingly simple show. but actually not so. The plot is ..... secret. shh.

Rewind back to the national day week, the school's celebrations was *thumbs down*. It started off with the usual parade segment followed by amazing race and concluded with a concert. Did I learn anything from the race? I wouldn't answer yes. But it was a good opportunity for our class to bond together. Areas of improvement? The parade segment as well as the 'concert'. I don't think it can be considered a concert when there was only 3 performances/songs?

After the celebration, meying xf jw wynee and I went town after the school's celebration. I say diy in town! Gosh, i miss her plus SG9! We'll meet up after the A's! hee. Anyway, 3 of us decided to change into our secondary school uniforms, for nostalgia. We didn't do anything much that day; we walked around, sat for a long while at pastamania before ordering our lunch, took neoprints and walked around again. Hmm. The norm of what one would do in town.

On national day, 6 of us-meying siti nellyn yuanhan, jon and I- met up to study in the morning before heading towards the padang to view the national day parade. Coincidentally we happened to be part of the largest human Singapore flag! =D The fireworks was fantastic!! Watching the parade with a large crowd of people gave a great ambiance too! Not wanting to squeeze with the large crowd after the parade ended and being quite appalled by the sight of the padang, we stayed behind for a while to clear parts of the rubbish. I simply cannot comprehend why some Singaporeans are so inconsiderate and irresponsible. If you create rubbish, you clear it, not wait for others to clear it after you. That's definitely wrong.

We're having a shortened timetable next week, so that we can have more time to revise our work, on the surface. In reality, our class still has extra lessons after school ends. But wells, I'm not complaining about it. The extra lessons would be beneficial to us.

I'm envious, but so what? I don't have the courage to take the initiative. Perhaps it's because I'm more conservative or perhaps because I value friendships more or perhaps because deep down, I'm scared. yeah WHATEVER. momo-ing! :(

This is going to be my 200th post! Hmm. This is just going to be about some random staff that has been in my mind.

Totally random comment: It's actually a saddening issue to see so many animals becoming endangered today. Even more scary is the way endangered innocent animals are killed brutally, not for their skin nor meat, but just merely killed. The reasons? No one knows.

Rewinds back to the school life:

I was actually in a foul and irritated mood yesterday afternoon. We had a physics timed practise, but before that, there was a showing of some nuclear explosion documentary at 1415h. After math tutorial ended slightly after 1345h, there seemed to be some mad rush of time. Perhaps it's wrong to say that there's any mad rush to get things done, because there simply wasn't any. It was just friends grumbling and debating over what time we had to be present at the audi. The atmosphere was quite kan chiong. And I didn't like that at all. I was trying to comprehend what mr hong had taught and some of the concepts were whirling in my brain. So when I'm presented with a kan chiong situation in front of me, I got pissed off. I need peace to think! Rarr. Nevermind that. So I packed up my bag in a hurried manner, expecting the others to do the same. That wasn't the case. I had to wait for others who weren't ready. Already you people are complaining there isn't enough time and yet none of you seemed to be rushing. Whatever can. We walked to the canteen, and as usual, it was packed. The entire AJ population has to squeeze into the canteen during the Wednesdays lunch break. It's so squashed in there, plus the queues are always long. Most of the time as well, for those who end school at 1345h, we only have 30min to queue and consume our food. *claps* As though this isn't frustrating enough, I see the western store auntie being biased. AGAIN. Okay, maybe now I don't take offense over the auntie giving a larger portion of food to the guys (we pay the same price), since they have a larger appetite, but to serve them(okay in this case just a guy) a plate of food, which wasn't even those stated in the menu, without them(okay him) even demanding for it? The auntie didn't even charge him a single cent. This is too ridiculous! I hate such explicit form of discrimination. If only some action can be taken against the auntie..

3/4 of the class guys haven't been turning up for lessons these 2 days. Most of them are down with eye infections, the primary source being yongbiao. He spread to weide zhaocong adrian terrence samuel all within a day! Gosh. I hope everyone gets well soon! Hmm. Seems like Yongbiao will be in trouble with the guys when he returns to school.

During our class break, we happened to be discussing about the army. Though only 4 of the guys were present, majority of them voiced their opinions that they weren't comfortable with female commanders guiding them. Perhaps this isn't a form of discrimination, but that men are too egoistic and find it hard to change their mindsets towards females in the army. While physically females may not be as strong, I firmly believe that they have the leadership capability to lead others along as well as the intellect. Otherwise, they wouldn't be commanding a fleet of guys. In reality, I'm not sure if there is a scenario where a female commander will take charge of a male platoon though. We were just discussing, but of course, I stick to my stand that females commanders can command the guys.

On monday, our school counsellor Lionel came to our class during physics lesson and shared with us about stress. Miss Ng invited him to share about stress with our class. So we all learnt more about managing stress after the sharing. For example, we have to learn to balance out things. Generally, there are 4 ways to face stress; emotional, intellectual, physical or spiritual means.

Officially, the 24th committee has taken over. I wish them all the best! The 23rd comm has had much experiences and fond memories in the past year, be it during expeditions or courses or trainings or our miscellaneous activities. Certainly, I'll miss every single ODACian.
