I miss my dear cedarians!!! Especially jac and anna plus 4pians plus squadmates! Argh. I haven't seen nor talk to them for a long long time! I suddenly felt so emotional just now while chatting with jac. It was great chatting with her, especially since the last time I seen her was in march! That was super super long ago! Sigh. I'm suddenly on the verge of crying now! Really touched that she initiated the chat.

With our own individual busy life, it takes alot of effort to be able to keep in contact with your friends whom you've once been close to. Someone has to initiate. Otherwise, it's easy to lose them.

Okay this post shall have no link between paragraphs. I just have too many thoughts flowing through my head.

Listened to november chopin's today. I'm reminded of christmas and the manhattan credit card whenever I listen to the album. It's probably because that album was released during the christmas season and that I was always listening to it during my journey to work then.

I went down to support the guys climbing today. They did a great job! =) And though they also didn't manage to win any medal, I'm sure that like me, they've got loads of experience to share. And each of them must have learnt something too.

I'm impressed by the performance of the climbers today, especially of those who were younger than me. Seeing them climb and complete the routes made me realise how weak a climber I was on saturday. To think less than half of the girls' individuals completed the route. Yet so many people, including the girls, much much younger than us managed to succeed today. I feel like a failure for not being able to complete the climb.

I am never able to complete all my homework, no matter how hard I try.

Ms Ng told us only today that we're out of point for our project work. Oh great. Half of our efforts have gone down the drain. We'll have to re-address alot of points.

Argh. I feel like I'm being squashed to a corner and have no breathing space at all. No matter how hard I try to get out and free myself, I can't.

What happened to all my motivation?

And I just want to shut myself up from the others.

Haix. The 1st interschool sport climbing competition today was tough! Well, at least that's how I feel. It was a disappointment not being able to reach the top, and especially so for the second route, since I was so close to touching the tile.

From afar, the tiles looked alright and manageable to climb. However, perhaps because of height disadvantage or poor techniques or other factors, it was tough reaching for some of the tiles. For the first route, I fell off at approximately the half way mark, not being able to grab a tile. Sigh. Was demoralised then. And when I was being lowered down, my stomach felt empty and I felt hungry suddenly!

Then for the second route, because I had gotten a warm up from climbing the first route, I was able to push on even further, till I reach the second last tile. In the beginning though, I supposed I used the wrong technique to climb. I was crossing my legs when climbing. Instead of placing my left leg at the left tile and my right leg at the right tile, it was the other way round. (Understand understand? It's difficult to explain the scene in words.) But then, for me, using this method was easier to climb. And I discovered another method to push myself up too---to place both hands on the same tile and then pushing yourself up. This method is more time consuming, but it works when your hands are getting tired. So I climbed and climbed and struggled at some parts, but I managed to get to the third last tile! The distance between that tile and the second last one was far, so I had to really stretch and used my armpower to reach for it. By then, i didn't have alot of energy left, so my few attempts wasn't that successful. And before I knew it, the time to complete the wall was up and I had to come down. Boo. :(

And both my hands were totally tensed up after the climb. That shows how much strength I used! The wall is much worse than the AJ rock wall.

Although I didn't perfrom very well, I'm glad for this experience which I have had today. It has made me realise where my weak points lie which I'll need to improve and in future, I'll be able to share the experience which I have with ODACians.

This sports climbing competition has also made me love climbing more and more! When I was up there climbing, I felt great. There's just this wonderful feeling which I don't know how to describe, especially when you're high above. If I had reached the top, I'll proabably be able to experience something even greater I supposed. But never mind, I'm setting further targets for myself now.

And I got to see afew familar faces today at the competition! It's an added bonus because I didn't expect to see them. I saw claire, shu hui, emmeline, eunice, graham and zhi geng! All of them climbed expect for claire who came down to support shu hui. And I had a great talk with eunice, catching with her and cheering for the climbers at the same time. Hee. Seeing zhi geng before heading home was another surprise, becuase I hasn't seen him for a long long time (he's my primary school so go figure when was the last time I saw him) and the fact that he recognised me! I was able to recognise him, since his features didn't change alot but I did! So it was a shock when he waved to me. I sort of dao-ed him though..and graham too. =X.

Mr chin, issac, cheeyong, vanessa and shenglong came down to support us today, but then no j1s came down..thus at times, I felt left out. Oh wells. I still thankful though! Having seniors beats having no one to support you when you're climbing! SRJC peeps cheered for me too! I could hear their shouts distinctly when I was climbing. Thanks so much eunice and emmeline! Ohh, and the organising commetitte only provided harness and not chalkbags. So, thanks to jean siew who was climbing after me, for providing me with the chalk! =)

While waiting for the results, we had dinner at burger king. At 1900h, the results came out. In a way, the results were a consolation. Hazel and I were ranked 16th. Sounds impressive, doesn't it? Howver, half of the number of competitiors were also ranked 16th. Only 10 people maganged to complete both routes and 5 others completed one. Thus, the remaining who failed to complete any were ranked 16th. For the girls, the top 8 individuals moved on to the next round. Pathetic, isn't it? The open category females were much better. In fact, all the other categories were much more exciting compared to the 'A' division females.

As for the guys, since most of them completed (i wonder how they do it?), the top 16 were involved in the next round. And jeremy was one of them! *claps* He was ranked 14th. In the knock out round, although jeremy was fast, the victorian climbed even faster. Nonetheless, he did a great job!! And for that, he earned himself 2 blue blacks, one from the first climb and another from the knock out round when he he knocked against the tiles. =P

By the time jeremy finished his climb, it was 8 plus and all of us headed home. The seniors took a train while I chose the bus since it was a faster alternative to go home. Besides that, I had to go to the optican at bedok too. So now, because I went to the optican to get new contact lenses, I'm broke!! I'm feeling the pinch from spending $285 on my contect lenses.

Tomorrow's the speed climbing competition! Argh! I'm feeling stressed out over this competition. Most of the competitiors have rock climbing in their school, eg. srjc, tpjc and tjc. So there's going to be a strong comeptition. Grr. And my irritating brother suan-ed me yesterday about me joining the competition. *whacks him* It's going to be my first time competing in a rock climbing competition tomorrow! I hope I won't become overly nervous nor excited and underperform. Whatever the circumstances will be, I am going to make sure that I put in my best effort tomorrow! Nothing lower than that. If I believe I can, half the battle is won. =)

The leaders' investiture and cca handover ceremony today. in which all J1s AJCians had to attend. It was a pretty brief event though, lasting around an hour. And though it was only a short event, there's lots of improvement for this activity. More co-ordination and communication needed between the different i/cs to ensure that there are no glitches. The photo incident today could have very well been avoided. Side track abit, in ms leong's speech, she mention about the swan story again! Haa. I remember that she said it back in Cedar too.

Between the time where lessons and the investiture, I rushed down to outram for my dental appointment. It seems like whenever I have dental appointments, there would be activites that would clash with it. There's hardly a time where I can chose not to rush from AJ to NDC and then back to AJ again. So, today's no expection. But I was irritated by the services which the nurses provided today. I could have arranged my next appointment in the same level where I had my appointment but then the nurse asked me to go to another storey to book the appointment. So I went up, but there wasn't any stuff at the appointment counter. Where had all the admin people gone to?! And so I waited and waitted and waited until I had no more patience and decided to try out another level. And it was only then that I found out that I could have pre-booked at level 2, where my dentist was located. Hmmph.

Early in the morning too, there was a rehearsal for the school's ndp celebrations. Thus, I had to wake up super duper early just so I could reach school on time. I was afraid that i wouldn't be able to wake up but lunckily, I've got a wake up call! Thank you so much! I appreciated it. :)

Presenting...3 dwarfs with a new hairstyle! Haa. Okay, I didn't take any pictures of them with their new hairstyle since I didn't have a camera with me. But, they look good with thier new hairstyle. Especially kenneth, who did away with his mushroom head hairstyle!

After the maths extra lecture, I tagged along with jonathan, jia chang and kenneth to ang mo kio for their haircut. The hairsylist's quite good I think, looking at thier latest hairstyle. The guys have shorter hair now. Not too bad not too bad. haha. And especially for mr yen, who initially wanted to keep his mushroom head hairstyle! He looks more shuai in this hairstlye lo. Okay, before you guys start saying that I'm scandalous, jia chang and joanthan look shuai too. :)

I actually woke up late today! grr. As a result, I had to take a cab down to school! $8.20!!!!!! Expensive expensive! More than half of my allowance for the day gone just because of the cab fare! Now why didn't I wake up earlier?? I should have slept earlier on friday!! Shuacks. Life has no room for regrets. So I shall not regret taking a cab down. At least now I know how expensive it cost to take a cab down. And I've had my first experience of taking a cab to school.

And it feels so nice to have a good long sleep! After coming back home, and having a nice bath, I went to sleep! Initially, I wanted to sleep for 2 hours, but the sleep turned out to be 6 hours long! From 1540h, I slept till my mom came home from work and chased me out of her bed. haa. Shows how tired and deprived of sleep I have been for the past 2 weeks! lalala. Feeling much more refreshed now. =)

Perhaps that explains why I have been feeling momo yesterday? Too tired I supposed.

I've been complaining too much lately. And I'm more easily irritated now too. Perhaps I'm too stressed out? Don't know don't know don't know don't know don't know don't know don't know.. But I think I am. Unknowingly, I've gotten myself stressed out. And quite easily too. hmm.

After school ended at 1715h today, my PW group went to amk macs for dinner and to finish up our gpp. There's so many tight deadlines to follow for PW-we have to hand in our finalised gpp tomorrow, WR and wokring resource file on monday. And so this means that for today and tomorrow, we really have to chiong everything for our PW! The meeting today was pretty productive...we got many things settled and came up with new ideas too. :)

Fabian's PW group and ours are always fated to meet together for discussions. During the holidays, both our teams met up at bishan macs. Today again, the both teams met up and also at macs! Only this time the venue was changed to amk. And for both times, we didn't tell one another where we would be meeting up. It's such a coincidence.

Odac yesterday was fun! We got to do reece outside school, in preparation fotr the ASEAN scholars orientation 2007. Henrietta, siti, kenneth and I went to the merlion park to do our reece. Hee. After we've checked out the area, the buses available and the possible hazards, we went to marina square LJS to eat! And then we crapped along the way. It was fun. =) hoho.

However, though odac had been fun, yesterday wasn't that good a day. Samsung called, and told me that I would have to pay $236.45 if I wanted to get my phone repaired. Argh. It's so expensive. I'm going to get a new phone. Sigh. If only the NUS race adventure organisers were responsible enough to take proper care of others' belongings. And when I came home, my internet connection just refused to function at it's normal speed. Instead, it decided to slow down to snail speed. And even after the page has loaded, nothing comes out. Either that or 'the page cannot be displayed' appears. It was frustrating! grr. *pulls hair out*

NUS race adventura 2006

A total of 9 checkpoints. Starting point: bukit batok nature reserve near some carpark. Time: 0930h. First checkpoint: inside the nature reserve too, somewhere near the toilets. Task: to squeeze water using sponge into the newater bottle to the brim. Our team was like unlucky enough to get a sponge which didn't absorb water well. As a result, though we were one of the first few teams to reach, we were one of the last few teams to leave.

From our first checkpoint, we had to proceed to bukit timah nature reserve. Credit goes to anthony, the babok club president, who knew the area well to led us there. It took us some time to figure our destination though, cos we didn't exactly know how to see which our next checkpoint was on the map until another team told us. At bukit timah nature reserve, we had to proceed to south view hut and tuip tuip hut to look for our clues. The journey was somewhat similar to our training there when we were preparing for the rinjani expedition..there's the familar feeling of climbing all the high stairs and walking down the steep roads..And just like every major odac activity for our batch (with expection of the rinjani expedition since we were in the clouds), it rained. And quite heavily too. As a result, all of us got drenched. So since we were drenched, it didn't whether or not to seek shelther. We just moved on.

I think the furthest distance to travel between checkpoints has to be between the second and third one. We had to walk to some air rifle range if i remember the venue correctly..it was run and walk, run and walk for our team. When we reach a slope, we would run. And when we had to go up a slope, naturally, we walked. Luckily, we didn't have to do anything at that checkpoint. Just get the passport signed, take a map and move on to next checkpoint.

Fourth checkpoint: venus road located near macritche reservoir. Again, some parts of the route was similar to us since we had been there for training before too. Now, I really appreciate the trainings we had at different areas..And finally, after all the travelling on foot, we got to use bicylces to travel to our next checkpoint! Initially, it was a relief for us since we didn't have to travel on foot. However, after a while, problems started to surface. The bikes which we rented aren't that comfortable and the seats weren't adjusted to our desired height.

Moving on from the fourth checkpoint, our next checkpoint was at bishan park. We overshot that checkpoint and had to turn back...And it's only today that I realised that bishan park is big!! Used to kan bian on bishan park last time, but no longer now! haha. At the fifth checkpoint, we had to swing ourselves over from one side to another without our feet touching the ground.I was quite bad at that task; had to attempt thrice before succeeding. To get to our next checkpoint, we had to put together a jigsaw puzzle. We didn't really spend alot of time on that. One look and you'd know that is SAJC.

And so we continued to bike to SAJC. Along the way, we had to carry our bikes so that we could cross the bridge to follow the bicycle path along the canal to SAJC. My first time carrying a bike! I didn't know that I would have the strength to carry my own bike. And it wasn't tiring at all. In fact, it felt lighter than I'd imagined it be. Along the way too, anthony started to get cramps in the leg. Outside SAJC, our task was to send a member to the canal to memorise some pictures within 20 seconds. Anthony completed that.

From SAJC, we had to go all the way to the national stadium, which would be our seventh checkpoint. Anthony's cramps got worst along the way, and we had to stop once in a while so that he could put the deep heat. Not that I'm complaining, it gave us a chance to rest too. The only water activity was at the seventh checkpoint. Kayaking. Using a 2 person kayak, all 3 members had to kayak all the way to under a bidge, get a bottle of drink, finish it, then go to another bridge at the opposite end, attempt to climb up a rope to the top of the birdge to give the empty bottle and passport to the person on top and then go back. We spend the most time at this station. And I conclude, that it's difficult to kayak meant for 2 people with 3 people in it. No matter how we paddled, the kayak didn't seem to be moving. But of course, we finished the task in the end. We managed to find the correct technique. At the other bridge, anthony (yes it's him again cos he's the only guy) attempted to climb the vertical rope up the birdge. That was actually a bonus stage. If you manage to get up, you'll get 5 minutes off your total time. Anothony almost reached the top before he dropeed. It was just so close!! He did a great job though. I tried to climb too, but wasn't successful.

Back to the shore, our next checkpoint was marina promenade. And again, the route which we took was all too familar to us. We just followed the route we took for the big walk to get there. There, we abandoned our bikes. The task to complete at the eight checkpoint was to stand on a rope tied between both trees and move from one end to the other end. After 3 tries, we still didn't manage to clear that station and thus had a forfeit of 10 minutes.

For our last checkpoint,. we had to go to 2 locations, one at keppel towers and another at chinatown. It was 1540 when we left marian promenade and we were afraid that we wouldn't be able to clear all our checkpoints (the cut off time was 7h from flag-off time). Looking at the map given to us, the distance to cover seemed long. However, before we knew it, we reached keppel towers. Again, we nearly overshot had it not been a group of kind souls who stood at the entrance of the area and told us that that was our checkpoint. Task at checkpoint A: rockclimbing and abseiling. 2 people had to do rockclimbing while another had to abseil down. We cleared this station quite fast I think. I've got to say that there wasn't much gripping tiles for the feet for rockclimbing! Either that or cos I wasn't wearing climbing shoes. I kept slipping while climbing.

After completing that checkpoint, we had to proceed to checkpoint B. We all thought that it was another station which we had to complete, but it turned out to be the ending point! So nearing the finsihing point, we all ran. =)

This first adventure race has been an eye opener for me. It's been a great experince, except maybe at the ending part where I found out the phone was soaked in water...But still, I'm thankful to have this experience and to have anthony and agapera as my teammates. And I'm also thankful for the previous odac experiences which I had, which helped me in completing the race.

Odacians went down to NUS Sports & Recreation Centre Multi-Purpose Sports Hall 4 for the advanture race briefing today. We left AJ at 1800h, but only reached nus at 1920h..I hope we didn't give the organisers a bad impression, being late for around 30 minutes. It's not exactly a first impression which I would like them to have of aj odac.

The pre-race briefing was short! We travelled for an hour just to hear a 20 minutes briefing. It's so WORTH it. Now I understand why the email stated that it's sufficient to have just one member down for the briefing.

It's going to be another busy weekend of ODAC activities. Investiture tomorrow and nus adventure race on sunday. I'll need a good rest tonight, to prepare for the weekend's activity. I think, i'll have to wake up at 6am on sunday just to be able to report at 8.45am at bukit batok nature reserve.

Hmm. I think I'm numb about my results. They're all too horrible. Jia you joycelyn! You can do better than what your results show! Work harder!!

And I'm no longer disappointed at Zidane for what he did, although I still disapprove of his action. He did have his reasons. If the incident had happened to me, I wouldn't know how to react.

This week aren't a physically drained week, but somehow, I still feel tired! Been coming home late everyday for the whole of this week..time just passes so fast. And I have been dozing off during lessons nowadays. I think it's due to the lack of sleep. But I can'r find enough time to sleep! Neither can I find the time to complete my tutorials..I'm always drained when I come home everyday. It's about time I relook into my priorities and decide what should be come first again. Maybe I have spent too much time on unneccessary things and procrastinating.

I can do it. I can and I will. I will be able to cope with both my studies and odac. No matter that I didn't do well for the common tests, it's not too late to revise my studying techniques. Failure doesn't mean I have to give up. Failure just means I have to find alternatvie solutions.

Whenever I'm feeling down, reading xx's blog always cheer me up. So I just wanna say, thank you for your posts. =)

Bleh. France didn't win the world cup. Italy did. It was 1-1 at half time and remained the same during full time and extra time. So the winner could only be decided at the penalty shoot-outs, during which Italy won 5-3.

I'm utterly disappointed with Zidane's performance! How could he headbutt Materazzi? He may have been frustrated at Materazzi and himself, but he should have controlled himself. It's never right to vent your anger and frustration at others and even more wrong to hit someone just because you cannot get what you want. Much as I support France, Zidance deserved the red card. He himself chose the path of ending his soccer in an ungracious and unglorious manner.

And I must admit, that Italy's defence is good. They've done a good job of defending their turf.

Feeling so tired today! Was dozing off during the lectures, especially during physics and pw. =X Couldn't help it. I'm deprived of sleep! haa. Off to do my hw now and then to my comfy bed! :)

I'm having my chinese 'A' level oral tomorrow, hope that everything goes well!

Yays! Germany won with a score of 3-1! :)

All the goals were concentrated in the second half, after the 56th minute. Schweinsteiger scored 2 goals and there was a own goal by Petit for Germany. A late cross nearing the finishing minutes by Figo to Gomes scored a consolation goal for Portugal. Portugal played well in this match, but unluckily for them, Kahn's a good goalkeeper and managed to save all but one ball from going into the net. Congrates to the hosting country! *claps* They've worked hard. Cheers to them.

The host country always manages to play well don't they? And I'm really amazed by the technology advancement today. Within half an hour of the match, the tv crews can come up with a nice video of the nice saves, goals and impactful images of the match. It was a good product.

Hmm. Updates on the happenings in the past week!

ODAC went for the 2 star kayaking course during the long youth holiday break. On the last day of the course, we had our first ever sea expedition, kayaking from CSSC to loyang, covering a total distance of 8km. And the dancer always spun. It's my first time kayaking such a long distance..fun fun! There were many memorable moments during the 3 days we spent together..us realising that there's actually a nearer bus stop which goes to CCSC, me capizing twice within 10 minutes due to the failure in doing my low brace turn, wynee's drinking water incident, the lunch at loyang beach, mr ong's lollipops for us, kayaking in a kayak which is entirely full of water without the spray cover on, the bus rides back to tampines, the dinners together, 'smart' jingxin who always never fails to entertain us (what am I thinking about now? haha)...

so we chose to take our grp pic outside the club this time round and in the middle of the road. hee.

After the kayaking course, I fell sick. I vomited out monday's dinner when I woke up on tueday. It tasted like tuna...I had diarrhoea throughout that day.Got food poisoning I supposed. My stomach hurt during lessons and I kept dozing off. So during the long lunch break, I went off to see the doctor and came back to school again for lessons after that. PE ended at 6.15pm, but I left school at 8.00pm cos of the discussion of the proposal for the interhouse sport climbing competition. And then I vomited again on the way home! Immediately I alighted from the bus which I took with meiying and vincent at the amk bus stop, I vomited into the drain. Pretty disgusting for the onlookers I supposed. Couldn't help it though. And I actually didn't eat anything much that day, just a piece of bread and a pao.

As usual on wednesday, there was odac. We had physical training in preparation for the nus race. And so we covered 10 rounds, did pumpings, dips, step ups...Personally, I felt it wasn't a tough training. BUT, due to the fact that we haven't trained for a long time and that I was sick, it was pretty draining. After the training, we had to prepare the rock wall for the sport climbing competition.

Thursday was a holiday for AJCians to make up for the polling day. Again, in preparation for the nus race, we had training. And as it was raining, we could use the tracks at bishan stadium. So we went to the gym to train. I think it's more productive training in gym, psychological effect maybe? It felt great after a workout there. We saw a senior from the 18th comm too..later on, we went macs. meiying, wynee, xiang feng and I went to jia wen's house after that to complete our IVLE assignments. And after that, I went to meet up with my pw group back at macs again. Fabian's group was also there.I think i'm too gullible! I actually believed that yongbiao had a N99 phone, no thanks to weide and kah ho. Bleh.

Then on friday, school ended early for everyone. The teachers had to attend the MOE excel fair. It didn't affect me much, since school already ends early for me on friday. There was training again. This time, we went swimming..did 22 laps in the pool. We went back to school to continue with our preparation for the sport climbing competition after that. There was a need to re-do the markings on the wall since it rained on thursday.

Yesterday was the interhouse sport climbing competition. On the whole, it went well. We didn't screw anything up. I had been worried on friday night whether or not things would go smoothly. After all, the proposal had been done in a rush only on thurday evening. I only spent 6 hours doing it and was afraid that I might have left things out. But things turned out well in the end. As always, there's room for improvement. It slipped our minds that the school only opens at 0800 on saturdays. So when we met up at 0645h, we had to wait outside the gate. Things got delayed abit there. Then it also took some time for the next team to get ready too since there was only 4 helmets for the participants to go round. Luckily, there wasn't alot of teams which participated so we still managed to end the competition early and could have a climbing session. I hearby announce that jia chang is a monkey of our batch. haha. He climbs super fast!! 43s to complete a climb! madness. And after the climb, we went toa poyah to have lunch and then to east coast for cycling. It was supposedly a training but we were did at a leisurely pace..went home after that and slept!

=)

MIDNIGHT!/ Friday, July 07, 2006

So tired now. I've been anything but free since school reopened. It's been odac odac and odac! Proposals and training and proposal and training! Not that I'm complaining, I enjoyed myself during the trainings. I just want to have more time to rest.

And it suddenly dawned upon me today during lectures that I've been neglecting some of my close friends and friends lately. Been too caught up with my own responsibilities which was expected of me. I'm sorry. I will definitely try my best to be more concerned and to spend more time with you peeps. I miss the talks!

I've quite alot of things to blog too! But somehow, whenever you have interseting happenings, you're just too busy to write them down.

Interhouse sport climbing competition tomorrow..I do hope things go smoothly.

feeling drained...now where can i draw more energy?

and feeling depressed all of a sudden.

MIDNIGHT!/ Monday, July 03, 2006

I'm tired!! My eyes are red now, not because I cried but because they're tired. The past 3 days of the 2 star kayaking course has been physically demanding but fun.

We had our first sea expedition today, travelling from CSSC to loyang and then back again. That's around 8km. Exciting! :)

MIDNIGHT!/ Saturday, July 01, 2006

:) :) :) :) :)

There's many things to be happy about. Firstly, the common tests are over!! Yays. We can all take a short break now. Secondly, there's a long weekend since monday is youth holiday. Thirdly, thursday will be a holiday for ajcians. Next, there's alot of exciting odac activites going on this term. We'll meeting up every often! And then, there's many other reasons too.

Hmm. The chinese paper on thursday was quite alright. Normal. Can do. A few difficult questions here and there, but generally the expected standard. I shouldn't fare so badly for that. As for friday physics paper, it was easier thean expected. But although it was easier, I still didn't know how to do most of the questions, as usual. The usual reasons-not enough practice, not enough time, a weak foundation...excuses or facts? I just can't get out of that deep pithole no matter how hard I try.

After the exams, meiying. huizhen. stacy. siti. anthony. kenneth. me went to AMK macs to join xiangfeng.rachel.vincent.joanthan.jia chang to eat. I think we stayed for around an hour plus or so. After that, they headed to the grassroots to play pool and bowl while I went home to take something and joined them slightly later. We played arcade too. Meiying is good at playing rock fever! She's like some pro person..

Later on, we went, no rushed back to schoool for the trial sport climbing competition. Some of the seniors went too. For our batch, 9 people climbed the wall during the warm-up. Siti, stacy, huizhen, and wynee went to cheer us on. However for the selection, nellyn and meiying didn't join in. Anthony, jonathan, kenneth, jia chang, sheng long and jeremy got chosen to represent the school for the competition. Jia you! Later on, some of us went for dinner together. 6 people squeeaing into a table for 4 at S11. Quite a squeeze, but nobody minded. :)

Reached home at 9 plus, bathe and then went to watch the world cup match between germany and argentina! This match is the first that I watched a full match, complete with injury time, extra time and penalty shoot-outs. The first half was boring, but the second half was definitely more exciting! Argentina scored a goal first, but in the end still conceded to germany during the penality shoots. If Argentina hasn't played in Germany's home ground and if their goalkeeper had not substain an injury and be subsititued and if the referee had not been biased or fearful, Germany wouldn't have a chance to score and win this game. Argentina played a great game. In a way, though I'm sitting on the fence, I'm glad that Germany has won.

I didn't watch the 3pm match, but Italy won. So germany will meet italy in the semi-finals. Hah. I've made a friendly bet with my friend that germany will win. Germany has a strong home adventage. Skills wise though, I'm in no position to comment.

Today's the start of our 3 day 2 star kayaking course! We got to use the dancer today, which is much lighter than the fibreglass kayak! Basically, we revivsed our 1 star skills and leant abit about the eskimo bow rescue. After it ended, we went to tampines mall for dinner and then went home. Coincidently, jing xin and I told the same bus home and we talked about alot of things, from studies to world cup to kayakin. He gives good advise. Haa.

ODACians, do drink more water today since we've been in the sun for a long long time today. Hydrate yourself! You wouldn't want to fall sick with all the upcoming exciting activities which we're going to have would you? It's been a long day, and though time passed quickly, there's still 2 more days for this 2 star course. So now that you have read till the end of this long post, get your eyes off your computer screen and get yourself a glass of water. =)
