MIDNIGHT!/ Wednesday, June 03, 2009

It's only wednesday but I feel like a week has been over!

Last Saturday I went for a facial, after a super long time. The facial person said my face was too sun-burnt and got alot of 阻塞. Sobs sobs.

Sunday was a mentally and physically draining day. I went for the sundown marathon and then pool slot after the run. Sundown marathon was definitely an eye-opener for me. My first ever marathon and a night marathon at that! The first 10km was still okay..i probably ran at my faster speed, completing it around 1h 11mins. Then came the east coast and siglap park connector stretch, which was so long! The 20km-30km mark was mentally exhausting. 1km seemed so far away from the next. After completing half the distance though, I knew that I had to absolutely complete the race. There was no backing out. My lower back started to ache then. And I started walking too. Walk and run, walk and run. And cross bridges, 3 in total. So horrible. Thankfully I didn't cramp up. Then came the final 12km. By this time, I started having abrasions too. Sigh. My bad, because I didn't invest in tights. After the 40km mark, there was no more signs so we just ran all the way to the finishing point. I felt cheated at the last part! I thought we just had to run across the bridge to the finishing point, but it turned out that we had to make a loop around! Sians. But finally, I completed the run! *claps claps claps* Under my targeted timing too. Timing: 5:51:06.98. I can happily wear the finisher tee. It's been a great journey I had during the run, next to learning that my mp3 can last for a long time. Haha. Then I went for training under the hot sun (as usual!). Had dinner with some of my teammates and by then, I was super tired and sleepy. On the train ride home with huiyi, I think I was blabbing nonsense to her. =x I reached home and totally knocked out. TIRING!

Come monday tuesday wednesday it was sports camp pre-camp! We gathered in the afternoon and had indoor games plus mass dance and sp night. Bedtime was at eusoff hall (4 of us to a double room). Meals were at our own expenses. Tuesday was more indoor games plus pool games and then night cycling. I went for training, so I didn't go for night cycling. Went home to the comfort of my own home to sleep. Then I was supposed to report at 8.45am at Sentosa today but I overslept. =x I totally didn't hear my alarm clock ring! Woke up at 9.15am instead. Bleh. So I reached Sentosa in time for lunch and games in the afternoon. And then it was break camp! I wouldn't consider pre-camp to be very fantastic (read: super duper exciting and entertaining). Of course there were fun games and funny stuff that happened, but there's definitely room for improvement, as with any other camps. What matters however, is the friends that I've made in this camp. And more experiences/things to learn to come. Sports camp sports camp here I come!

I'm not enjoying training at the moment. :( But I'll preserve on! No pain/sweat, no gain. I'm not improving as much as others, maybe i'm even stagnating at the moment, but I'm not going to be impatient. Rome isn't built in a day. I've got to keep on pushing myself. There's going to be some form of beep test/assessment tomorrow. No back paddling (i think), thankfully.
