POSTING RESULTS FOR THE 2006 JOINT ADMISSIONS EXERCISE
1 The Ministry of Education (MOE) will be releasing the posting results for the 2006 Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) on Friday, 3 Mar 2006 at 8 am. Students can obtain their posting results through the following means:
· The Internet, at the website http://www.moe.gov.sg/esp/schadm/jae· The MOE Hotline, at telephone number: 6691-2131
· Posting lists, which will be displayed at the junior colleges (JCs) and Millennia Institute (MI) for students currently attending these institutions to refer to.
· Hardcopy posting results by mail on or after 3 Mar 2006, which all applicants will receive.
2 Students currently in a JC or MI are advised to check their posting results at their respective institutions.
3 Candidates posted to JCs and MI should report to these institutions on 6 Mar 2006 at 7.30 am. Candidates posted to a polytechnic or Institute of Technical Education (ITE) course will receive further instructions and an enrolment package from the respective institutions by mail.
4 Applicants who wish to appeal for a transfer to another JC, polytechnic, ITE or the MI should approach the institution of their choice directly.
JAE Posting Results on the Internet
5 Internet access will be made available at all the JCs, MI, polytechnics and ITE campuses for applicants without internet access at home.
6 Past trends indicate that most applicants check their posting results online within the first two-hour, 8am – 10am, of the posting results release. To better manage this peak in demand and avoid inconvenience to others, MOE would like to seek the cooperation of applicants to access their posting results online only once within the first two hours.

Boo. Coincidently, I met Anna today at enous. She told me that vj science cut off is partial 4. Partial 4!!! Even lower or no chances of getting into vj now. I'm feeling so disappointed. It may be a rumour, but then it was said that someone asked the principal about it and she confirmed it. Sigh. =( Sniff. Sniff. My dream jc.But never mind, there is always aj! I won't mind staying in aj...hee. Went to watch final destination 3 today at cineleisure with yt. 1405 show. Sort of a rush for us. We reached somerset at around 1345, went to buy the tickets and then bought subway lunch. Went into the cinema around 5 minutes late. Luckily, we didn't miss out much.Final destination 3 is gory. Basically, you are paying 7 bucks to see how people die. My rating-6.5/10. I didn't feel any adrenaline rush at all. The plot was normal, similar to the previous fd. And the scenes involved a lot of bloodshed. It's good that the rating is NC 16. I think those that are younger will not be able to stand the scences. There was this girl who cried after watching the movie- I think she got quite freaked out. Some of the scenes are horrifying but it didn't scare me to the extent which I feel like screaming. And i wonder, since when did cathay start to check people i/c s to see if you are of legal age to watch NC16 movies? After the show, yt and I went to the library and then to kinokuniya to browse through some books. Went home after that. Nothing exciting.Hmm, for lessons, PE was slack-we just played caption hall. No running, no conditioning exercises. The tutorials were so-so. In all my tutorials, I nearly fell asleep. Short attention span. Hah. But that never happened when I was in cedar. Is it the because of the way the lessons are being structured then? I wonder why aj must have two 30 minutes periods for a lecture/tutorial? Why not just have a 50 minute period for a lecture/tutorial? After all, it has been proven that beyond 50 minutes listening to a lesson, the attention span decreases drastically. And this results in not being able to absorb the content taught as well. Students are unable to perform optimally. Which can result in students feeling sleepy.Ohh, and I got back my chemistry test results today. I didn't perform as badly as I thought I would. Got 14/30. It supposed to be a fail, but then mr yeong said that the passing mark is 13.5. So I passed. =). And I didn't get a single digit. Cheers! I need more practice though. If there can be people who score 28/30 for the test, I believe that I can do as well too.

The last week left before our posting results are yet. Despite this, there's going to be a maths test on wednesday. I'm not going to let the test affect me though, I am going to enjoy and appreciate my last few moments of the jae period. Hah.Quite an interesting day today. =) Maths, physics and gp lecture was fun. Since for maths and phy we had already finished with the topics that was to be covered for the first team, we could do something more relaxing, which we did.For maths lecture, we watched a walt disney cartoon about mathematics. I never knew maths could be applied to so many aspects, such as music (the musical instruments are made based on accurate calculations on length of string), architecture and even playing billiard! I shall apply what I have learned from the video on my next game of pool! Hee.As for physics lecture, the teachers showed us some experiments. And for gp, we watched a video on adaption of children, the problems the child, foster parents and social workers face..I got my mp3 player today!! :) creative zen neon, 6GB. So happy. I shall go experiment around and see what I can do with it.

Meaningful??You are who you are for a reason. You're part of an intricate plan. You're a precious and perfect unique design,Called God's special woman or man.You look like you look for a reason. Our God made no mistake. He knit you together within the womb,You're just what he wanted to make. The parents you had were the ones he chose,And no matter how you may feel,They were custom-designed with God's plan in mind, And they bear the Master's seal. No, that trauma you faced was not easy. And God wept that it hurt you so;But it was allowed to shape your heartSo that into his likeness you'd grow. You are who you are for a reason,You've been formed by the Master's rod.You are who you are, beloved,Because there is a God!!-Russell Kelfer-

I'm so tired now after odac. We did bouldering and abseiling today! =)The bouldering wall outside the reading room was used for bouldering. Initially, we were supposed to use the rock wall but as it started raining, we had to shift indoors. I like the bloudering wall outside the reading room. *thimbs up*. It really challenges one. The number of grips on the wall is limited, and since some of the grips are not considered a grip since you can't have a good grip, you have to stretch and stretch to move to the left/ right. Although I fell off the bouldering wall quite a few times, I managed to complete what was required of us---to boulder till the half way mark off the bouldering wall. :)Luckily, the rain stopped and we could abseil. Ariana and I volunteered to be the first 2 guinea pigs. Hee. We waited for quite some time for the equipment to be set up. Mr Lim and mr Chin , together with Clement and Chang Tai, were at the top of the abseiling area. Clement was my 'life line' (he was controlling the safety rope attached to me) while Keith was my supporter. It was such a great feeling standing at the top of the building. I'm lovin it! =P. The 2 main activities today were quite physically draining, especially after the bouldering. Besides bouldering outside the reading room, we did bouldering at the rock wall too. My arms are tired now. I won't suffer from muscle ache tomorrow I hope? =X.There was plenty of free time today during odac, be it when waiting for others to boulder or to abesil. And we didn't do anything much expect to talk crap and attempt to entertain ourselves. After odac, I went home, bathed and did my homework. Managed to finshed my maths tutorial despite being so tired. I'm surprised that I didn't fell asleep. *claps* Hee. A sense of accomplishment. >.<

Such a mood-swing afternoon today. I just felt moody for a moment and then crazy the next. School ended at 1245h but then I stayed back in school with yt and sel to complete the hw until ard 1730. After that, Sel went for her volleyball training while yt and I went to have dinner at amk.
Why was yesterday less boring than today? I want my everyday to be fun and exciting! =X. Maybe it has something to do with my mood???? Hmm..
Odac tomorrow!! =).

Happy birthday yiting!! Must take care of yourself okay..don't keep falling sick. =)
Monday. First period of the day today was chemistry lecture, which was spend doing a chemistry test on mole concept. I pretty sure that I'm gonna flunk this test, think I'll get a single digit. There wasn't enough time to complete the 45 min test and there were questions that I didn't know how to do. I studied, and yet, I didn't know how to do the questions. Boo. =(
Total defence commenoration today too. The date was suppoed to be on 13 Feb, but since the J1s were not in school then, the exercise could not be carried out and could only take place today. As a result of the 'celebration', we were given 2 food rationing coupons which was supposed to last us from the morning till 1345h. All the stores in the canteen sold porridge with sweet potatoes and potates, at a cost of $1.50. It didn't taste so bad, but I wouldn't want to eat that everyday. Since ajcians were supposed to have a feel of how life was like during the war, there was also the black market selling muffins which were sold for different prices at different periods in time. Besides that, for half an hour, the electricity supply was also cut off. Lessons were disrupted-I had physics lecture then. We just went to the hall, took our attendence and then let off for the rest of the period.*yays*I had lunch with sel after classes at J8's long john silver, where coincidently, we met apriani and fatimah. Did some work with sel after lunch and then went home. And I realised that I'm starting to like jogging. Hah. =)

OGF workshop was on friday and saturday..2 half day workshop. Quite a short workshop as there wasn't the T1 march holidays to work with, so everything had to be squeeze within school term...
The workshop was fun! Got to know more friends, played games, dance, cheered and of course, learnt about the main role as an OGF.
The games on friday was very fun!! The games were simple, but it was action packed. I especially liked scissors paper stone. Your team had to get from one end to another by moving your butt from one end of the chair to another end. In the process, since both teams had to start from opposite ends, there'll be a time where the two people will meet. When they meet, they'll have to play scissors paper stone. The winner will get to move on but the loser will have to go back to the starting line. It sounds simple, but it's exciting, especially when people starts to really do it quickly cos they want their team to win. Adrenaline level pumped up. =)Ohh, the learning of the school song activity was quite interesting too-getting to know the lyrics through actions. After lots of practice with by doing the action, the song lyrics doesn't seem that hard to memorise. But of course, like every activity that's planned, there's bound to be flaws. Therefore, the OGF workshop has areas of improvement too, such as providing meals for the OGFs since during the 2 day workshop, it ended quite late. And resulted it many growling stomachs.

Hmm..haven't been updating for the past few days. Been so so busy!! But then, i wasn't exactly busy with my acadmeic school work...
Went back to aj to settle some stuff on monday and then met up with my classmates, 0706! We went to catch the movie I Not Stupid too and then had bbq at sel's house. Mr Yeong went there too!! It was nice of him to bring the food for the bbq.=) And our class bought a tie for him from Zara! so nice of us right?? haha. not cheap alright!! close to sixty bucks.hah. At sel's house, we ate and crapped and then left at around 10 plus.
Some of the pics taken on that day:
on the train to yck..the gers

sitting opposite them were..

Mr Yeong playing the piano at sel's house..

Him again wearing the tie which 0706 bought for him..

the people who went for the gathering..
And then yt and I went to crash nj on tueday! I had to wake up damm early..was very tired. There were many J1 ajcians who crashed nj too..some hid in the toilet during the assembly (including yt and I) and some went for their assembly. Yt and I joined sing joo's class and we attended maths and physics lecture with her class. After that, they had tutorials so we just walked around the school. We left the school at around 11 plus and went J8 to shop for some v'dae presents. Then went back to aj to meet up with sel, hang around the school for a while and went town again to catch another movie-fearless.
On Wednesday, we went to crash vj. Joined lw's class for assembly in the morning, then crashed their maths lecture. After that, we stayed around for a while, walking around the school compound and chatting with people at the canteen. Jac, zeling, jy and shir crashed vj too, but then it was in the late morning..jy and shir came when yt and I left vj, to go back to aj, again. Bus no. 13 takes 1h 15mins to go from vj to aj. Yea. Even during the 'hols', I have to go back to aj everyday. Hmm, had to go back to meet up with sel and barnabas to complete our chinese project, which we completed it after 2.5h. So drained out after that, and yet still had to go home to complete my hw...
And today, woke up feeling lathergic. Attempted to study physics on the bus but then somehow, my eyes just closed. Hah. Quite a smooth-going day actually, but then pe was tough!! It wasn't the running part, we just did 2 rounds as usual. The circuit training was the tough one..not quite used to it cos I have not had such trainings for a long long time. So yea, I'm just brushed out.
And it's going to be another long day tomorrow. Lessons end at 1515h, but then there's the OGF workshop to attend which will end at 7 plus. Hopefully, I will have the enough energy for tomorrow..

17. Being 17 is just so differnent from 16. So many new things to learn, and suddenly, a whole lot of responsibilities that you don't seem to have when you're 16.
Such a different experience. Still a teenager, but yet also, considered a young adult.
And you have to make many many choices. Your parents no longer decide for you. They only offer you advise. Ultimately, the decision lies in you--whether or not you chose to listen to thier adivse, they have no control over it.
And sometimes, that's not exactly a good thing. So frustrated over what choices to chose. But then again, it's a good time to practice making good decisions...

Hmm..the release of the 'O' level results yesterday. I'm so proud of Cedar!! Everyone did a good job! A miracle created. Hee. Such an emotional day yesterday...
Meet up with yt and lw for lunch at tp mos burger. Its such a small world. I saw my aj classmates and og mate there too-shang yi and jeslynn. Eating and worrying at the same time.
Everybody will tell everybody not to worry. The result slip have already been printed out. No use worrying because there is no way that you can change what has been printed on your result slip. But still, we will worry. Worry that you do not score well enough, that you cannot go to your dream JC or stay on in whatever you've been in for the first 3 months..
The anitcipation of waiting for your results is always ---, unless of course you're really really confident that you'll score well. But no matter what, there will always be the possibility of not scoring well. This tiny feeling in your heart, that you are afraid that you have not done as well as you expected.
Thus you can expect the atmosphere in Cedar from as early as 1300 to be quite tense. Of course, the teachers have known the results beforehand, but then the students don't. And we have to wait impatiently until 1430 before we can know what our results are. But, well before 1430, we already know who the top student is.
What exactly happened on 100206:1400h. Everyone milling around the school compound is asked to go to the school hall. Everyone gathers in the hall. Everyone is worried and excited about the results.
1415h. Mr Suresh speaks about the JAE, what we should do after we have collected our results. He promised us that he would only spend 5 minutes explaining the procedure. "Girls, I know that you people are very excited about your results with each passing second, not hour or minute, but second. But I need to tell you what you have to do after you have collected your results. So just bear with me okay? I assure you that I'll make it fast, just 5 minutes." And so we listened.
1420h. The microphone is handed over to Mrs Lim who announces the top student of Cedar. Even before Mrs Lim speaks, there are already screams in the hall because we have all seen the powerpoint slides of the top students. Seeing Chow Wen Xin's name as the top name is no surprise because we already know she has scored 11 A1s. The new Cedar principal, Mrs Ou-Yang is asked to present the result slips to the top students, altogether 11 of them. I'm just so proud of our class! 4 top students! =) Oh, and the press was there too.
1425h. Microphone is handed over now to Mrs Ou-Yang. She tells us how the whole school has performed. But actually, there was no need to. We didn't exactly listen to her talk. We just looked at the screen. It was self-explainary. There was no need for much eleboration (not to mention that she speaks softly too). The slide where it showed how each class had performed was the most impactful. Everyone just went crazy, screaming and clapping. I cried. The results was just damm good. Average L1R5--10.8. It was just great, considering that our batch was not very clever. My class L1R5 was 8.0, which i feel is extremely good. Of course, just as impactful were the slides which showed the distribution of how many students had gotten L1R5 of 6, 7,8 etc. Only 4 students scored L1R5 of more than 20 pts. And even then, the worst student got a score of 24, which isn't very bad. Everyone went crazy over one of the slide which showed a pie chart of how many people had qualified for jcs. 52% got between 6-10 pts. That is just so wonderful !!!!!!! And then came the slides of how each subject fared, which had all of us straining our eyes to look at it, as the font was just too small.
1430h. Everyone is about to their results. But before that, we must allow for an important person, the person who together with the teachers have allow us to perform so well for the O's, to speak. Ms Leong! Of course she has to be back to see how we have fared. How can she not? She has put in so much effort and contributed so much to Cedar, especially to our batch. And there was a standing ovation for her. 1435h. Everyone knew of their results. I was so scared when I was holding the result slip. Didn't want to count the points on that piece of paper for fear of counting wrongly my points. So I just tore open my envelope which indicated my L1R5. It took forever to open. I had to tear open so many sides!! But at last, it was opened. And I looked at my results. L1R5 = 08.Hmm, I'm actually quite contended with my results. And really thankful, especially with my sciences. Not A1s, but at least not Cs either. And then after that, my fingers got busy with replying all the smses. And at the same time, multi-tasking too. Asking all my friends how they have fared. So many of them with 8 pts and below...I'm so proud of them!! Hee. We went to thank the teachers after that. Celebration!! yt, lw, shir, ser, ari and i went to town together. We had dinner at yoshi and then went to walk around. And took neoprints!!

Something's wrong with me today. I'm just so slow today. Malfunctioning brain. Maybe it's the pre-blues before the release of the O's results?? I'm just worried I guess. And you have all the rumours flying about too..just before the release of the results.
'Al grade for E-Maths has been raised to 93 instead of the usual 75. 70% of Singapore's Sec 4 cohort has failed Social Studies. 99% of the cohort did not fully comprehend the letter-writing question.'
I wonder how true the 'reliable source of information from moe' is? Oh well, tomorrow we shall know.
The day passed extremely fast in school today. I guess it's because of the release of the results tomorrow? Everyone was in no mood to have lessons today. The teachers understood too, which was why lessons seemed to pass so fast. Crapping away during chinese period, and then let off 5 minutes earlier during physices lecture. Oh, and PE was cancelled too. Just like last week. Last week was cos we had x-country on fri and thus it just take attendance and then go off. Today it was also just the taking of attendence and then you can go.
Paraphase of what Mr Lim said: well, the weather is not too good now-the rain has not stopped and you people are getting back your results tomorrow. I don't think you all have the mood to have PE too right? So for today you'll just need to take your attendence and then you'll be able to leave.
So it was early dismissal for us! =) Dinner with yt and then went home.
I actually met Elizabeth on the bus today! Such a coincidence cos I didn't and have not seen her for a long time. We crapped alot..just basically caught up with each other. =) Really glad to see her today.

So fun today!! =) I enjoyed myself so much.
It's like such a special day today. In the morning, walking in with yt and sel into AJ square, I saw for the first time, the people that were in charge of flag raising, as in those who were in charge of pulling the flags? hah. I don't normally walk that way. And Chee Yong was commanding! Surprised i guessed, although I already knew that he commanded.
It also dawned upon me that today is wednesday, cos all ajcians were donning their ties..normally, in cedar, wednesday is just wednesday cos you wear a tie everyday. But then in aj, ajcians wear ties only on wednesday. Because that's something different and I'm not used to it yet (since in cedar it does not matter) it felt special.
After flag raising, there was maths lecture. It was just normal...expect maybe I wasn't in the mood to listen to the lectureer. Break after that followed by chinese, econs and phy tutorials. No comments about all these. Just that I was waiting for time to pass....
After school, I had to rush down for my dental appointment. Deposited my bag with jy so that she could help me put inside odac store then went down to outram. A 50 minutes trip!!! I was like sleeping all the way from yck to raffles place. God planned the time just perfectly for me, cos I managed to reach ndc just 5 minutes before my appointment. Then waited for around 10 minutes before going meeting my dentist. Basically, she just changed the wire. And I chose yellow for my braces. No more pink..maybe after yellow i'll choose green. heh. I didn't know I still had to pay today today. Thankfully, I bought some cash with me and the amount wasn't what I could not afford. And then another 50 minutes trip back.
Back in school, odac!! Hee. I went to join Myra's group. We played a game where we were supposed to move from one end to another end using 2 tyres and 2 surfboards. The surfboard was not supposed to touch the ground, only the tyre could touch the ground. You're supposed to get across to the other end without touching the ground by walking on the surfboards or tyres. If you do you'll need to restart the game. And our group managed to complete it without restarting the game. 3 cheers for that!!!
And after the game, it was rockclimbing! Both jeremy and myra made the activity more interesting by saying that we had to go pluck coconuts. 50 of them, in fact. You're supposed to climb up the wall, and depending on where how high you climb, odacians have pasted 'coconuts' on the wall and you're supposed to pluck them. We were of course, thought the basics of how to wear the harness and the commands before proceding.
Climbing time! I managed to reach the top of the rock wall!! *grins* A great sense of satisfaction! The feeling was wonderful! Hee. And then of course we cheered and encouraged the others who were also climbing.
After odac ended, I went novena with jy and tan jin for dinner at subway. My first time eating that. hah. The food was nice, but I couldn't really enjoy it cos my braces were hurting. Oh well.
And that was my wonderful and fun and enjoyable day! It really took my mind off the thought of getting back my results...

Wah. Okay. I realised that this page loads very slowly. Okay. Watever ar. My main point of this post is not to complain about how slowly it loads, but just that it affects my flow of thoughts and what I want to post.
Oh well. This is gonna be a short post. Reason being? Tired. It's time for me to sleep. And why am I not sleeping? Cos I've been slacking..spend an hour online, then realised that I have homework which is due tomorrow. Thus, no choice but to go do. Hence, spend the next hour and so trying to complete my homework, like until now, but I've still not finished. I'm not going to care. I shall leave it to tomorrow. I'm too tired to think. If i don't sleep now, I won't have the energy tomorrow to stay focused. And that, is more important than finishing my work. Rock climbling!! Looking forward to it. Haha. okay so ta-ta!!
