Monday's activity: trekking with 17 other odacians at bukit timah.
Earlier, wynee.mei ying.yu yuan and I met up at novena before going to bukit timah. We took bus 143 to newton and then changed to bus 171. Unfortunately, we took bus 171 in the wrong direction and ended up at SMU. As a result, we had to take the same bus in the opposite direction and was late for 50 minutes. *hangs head down guilty* We didn't mean to be late!!

Tuesday's activity: revolves around ajc..
Our group met up in school today to discuss about our gpp. We finished our discussions at 1 plus then went J8 for lunch. After that, I met up with yee han to pass him the pics and then went to beach road to get some stuff..

Calling all kind hearted people out there!! I'm helping my friend gather some volunteers for his ongoing CIP project. It's somethinng similar to what agapera's class is doing; both are raising funds for the ST School Pocket fund.

What the CIP project is about:
Inspire '06 are holding an islandwide fund-raising drive to collect $$ for the ST School Pocket Money Fund, with a target of $100 000. To achive that, they'll be selling custom-made Post-It Pads , teddy bears and other memorabilia. Hence, Inspire is currently recruiting about 1500 volunteers for this charitable cause, with sessions held every weekend during the june holidays. Each weekend session will last approximately 4 hours. Inspire '06 hope that each volunteer can come for at least 2 sessions. Upon completion, everyone will be issued CIP hours + a certificate of appreciation accordingly.

So people, if anyone of you is interested to know more details about it, just message me or tag my blog alright? Please indicate by this thursday k?? And if you've signed up to help agapera's team, you can also sign up for this too.

Do help okay okay? Let's help the unfortunate!! The more people the merrier! They're pretty short-handed now. Thank you!

I went back to cedar for aries nco campfire yesterday. After odac ended at 1900h, joleen, kl, yt and I took a cab down from aj back to cedar. We waited so long for a taxi! Luckily, a group of guys alighted at aj --- i think they came to watch the guitar concert.

The campfire was fun!! It's been such a long long time since I last sang all the campfire songs, do billybanja (i'm pretty sure its' the wrong spelling) with squadmates and hang around with them. I miss them!!! jy, joleyn, gauri, shir, ser, lw, yt, edith, kl, joleen, fadilah, emma, yiyou and I went back. All of us were wearing different attires, but it didn't matter. =)

The campfire programme was interseting, especially the games part. There was this pass the parcel game where we had to pass a parcel around when the music starts to play. When the music stops, the person holding the parcel would have to tear off a layer from the parcel and do a forfeit. When the parcel came to me after it stopeed at ma'am shiyun, I passed the parcel slowly, in hope that my squadmate would have to do a forfeit. But in the end, I ended up doing the forfeit because the music stopped before I had the chance to pass on the parcel!!! And so I had to do a catwalk!!!! Luckily I had shir and then lw to accompany me with doing the catwalk. Phew.

And then there was the longest/ fastest/ thickest.....game. Which was interesting too!

We climbed 112 stories again yesterday for the training for the rinjani expedition, in the midst of the dark sky and lighting...and it was fun too. Shenglong mixed me up with stacy! Boo. We look different and are not of the same height okay!!

Today:
After the equipment check this morning at the basketball court, mr chin, jonathan, kenneth, meiying, nellyn, agapera, joleen, kl, xiang feng, hui zhen, yuan han and I went thomson plaza to buy stuff for the rinjani expedition. We celebrated nellyn and jonathan's birthday with a cake...

What you told me inspired me today. Thank you. As much as what you said concerns yourself, in a way, it applies to me too. And I'm glad you told me. I shall do it too . =)

Yesterday, our group lent yb's group our gpp as they needed some informtation. Today, yong biao didn't come to school since he came down with a fever. Now, our gpp is still with yong biao's, which means that our group will not know if our gpp is approved tomorrow. Ms Ng will not be able to finish correcting our gpp. And we have to get our gpp approved by this week or we will be lacking behind in our progress. Sigh. Was it a wrong mistake for our group to lend your group our gpp? Was it wrong that our group had trusted your group? Was it wrong that I assumed that you would have found alternative solutions to hand in our group's gpp? Aiya. What's done is done. No use brooding over it. Both groups will just have to face the music together now.

There's gonna be a half day tomorrow. School ends at 10.45am. There's odac though. I can't go to town, but at least I'm going back to cedar! I miss Cedar. blah.

I hope I've done well for my chemistry and physics spa. Now that both spas are over, there are no more major exams this term until next term, when the common test comes up. I've got to study hard for this upcoming mid year common test! I want to be able to perform up to my own expectations.

I hate my cough!! arhh!! It's irritating!!! Come on joycelyn get well soon get well soon get well soon!!! Gosh. I seriously hope and want to get well soon. I want to be fit and healthy when I go for my Rinjani expedition!

Odac ended so late yesterday!!! At 2100h. Half of the J1s went to support the volleyball team while the other half had level 1 sport climbing course. Boo. I couldn't go down to support the vball team beacuse I was in group A which had to attend the sport climbing course. But congrates to the volleyball team for being the champions!! You people deserved it after all the sweat and tough trainings! AJCians are all proud of you. =)

So stacy, henrietta, siti, joyce, may, wynee, me, anthony, jin ken, vincent, eu choon and ms ng attended the sport climbing course with joanne as our instructor. Mainly, the instructor covered on the safety, equipments, taking care of the equipments and belaying skill. In a way, it was a refresher course for me, since I have learnt the skills back in Cedar. And yes! The runner didn't drop. hee.

After the course, there was a briefing for the Rinjani expedition. Group B came back around 7 plus, so at 1930h, mr lim started the briefing. At 1940h, the tour agency people came and they briefed us on what to expect and what to bring. And at 2100h, we left school.

Got scolded by Ms In for not completing my chinese essay early in the morning today. The dateline to hand in the essay was on tue. But she extended it to wed. However, I haven't complete it then, so I wasn't able to hand in. I was still rushing the compo this morning when she spotted me doing that. As expected, I got a scolding from her. And she threatened not to mark my essay. In the end, she still did, cos she wants me to learn my mistake. I really felt guilty this morning when she scolded me. She wasn't being unreasonable. I was in the wrong. After all, she gave this piece of assignment to us last wednesday. But I just didn't plan my time well.

And then, we also had to hand in 10 newspaper articles, complete with the reviews today. But alot of people in our class didn't manage to complete it, including me. I must say, tha tMr Akshir was kind enough, to allow us to hand in 12 newspaper articles next week and didn't punish any one of us. Because clearly, we were in the wrong. Had we been more responsible, we would have been able to hand all the newpaper articles today.

After the 1.5h of GP, we had physics SPA. I hope I've performed well! Saded that I've made some mistakes though. Sheesh. Hope the overa;; grade is not affected.

Yt, Jonathan and I went to have dinner at J8 after that. During dinner, Yt and I were talking about our np days. I miss the days!!! And especially all the camps which we went through together. Tough, but all of us pulled through as one -crater. :)

Bball finals tomorrow. Jia you basketball guys! We'll all be behind you!

The first time ever that I missed lessons in school, because I'm down with a fever and sore throat.

Staying at home is actually not a bad thing. So I've realised. Feeling the sun shine into your home, being able to wake up late...such are luxuries which have not which I've not felt for a long time. And I miss the feeling. I'm spending more time in AJ than at home now.

I'm back from Belumut! *grins* And I survived the expedition! The 26 J1 plus 4 super seniors
(yee han, zhao ming, tai wei and vee cek) plus 4 teachers all came back in one piece! No one got injuried at all. *claps*

On 11 May, we all had to report to AJ tennis court by 2030h, prepared for the expedition. Unfortunately, having waited for the bus for 20 minutes, I reached school 10 minutes late. All of them were at the tennis courts and checking their belongongs. After a while though, there was a slight drizzle and we had to shift to the MPH to check the logistics. Inside the MPH, Mr Lim taught us how to use the backpack; the different components the bag had and how to pack our stuff inside the bag. And when he realised that we were bringing 2 backpacks for the expedition, he questioned the need for it. The conclusion in the end: we would only be placing 7 backpacks containing tents and food for the expedition, in the office. Our clothes will be together with our daypacks. And so we repacked. All the food and tents in the school's backpack. All the other neccessary stuff into our own daypack. Considering the space constraint and weight load of our daypack, we learnt to be selective with our items; what was a need and what was not. The night was a pretty messy one. Alot of changes!! Most of us slept at 0100h. And the MPH has lots of mosquitoes!!

Although we slept late, we could not afford to wake up late. So at 0430h, a few of us had woken up, to bathe! Luckily I bathed, otherwise I wouldn't have known. At 0600h, we boarded the bus and set off to M'sia! At the pit stop in M'sia, we were supposed to have our breakfast of the tuna bread prepared. Alas, we left the bread in the PE dept fridge! So we had to purchase food there. After the 15 minutes stop, we continued with our expedition to Belumut, and reached at around 10 plus. After placing our tents and food in the office, we set off from the foot of belumut at 1100h.

Climbing a mountain is never easy!! Initially, all of us could still cope with the trek. We were chatting and climbing at the same time. Jia Chang was telling jonathan, joyce and me about x-man and maple...When we started to climb the steep part of the mountain, we started to struggle!!! I was always asking the guide, clarence, when we would come to the flat part. Goes to show how fit we are for couquering a mountain. At around 1330h, we finally reached the midpoint of the mountain, feeling half dead. After having our lunch, we proceeded with the trek. Some 30 mins or shorter after that, we met Mr Lim, who had went to the summit and came back down. He offered to look after our bags for us while we continued with the trek. We just had to bring our water and poncho. In this way, we'll be able to reach the summit at a shorter time period.

Unfortunately, it started to rain and there was thunder, so we had to turn back. Trekking downhill is so much easier!!! But I was more prone to slip too. And according to zhao ming, the reason I slipped easily was cos I was wearing new balance shoes, which provided no balence for me. >.<>

After the bee hoon dinner, it started to rain agian, so we went to seek shelther under the HQ tents and inside our own tents. The tents didn't exaxtly shield us from the rain though. Some of the water seeped in after a while. This time, the rain stopped at around 10 plus. We went to wash up and people started to do their sentry shift. After finishing my sentry shift at midnight, I didn't return to my tent to sleep but instead, stayed inside the HQ tent. There were mosquitoes inside the tent! I actually didn't intend to sleep, but tiredness slipped in and at 0400h, I went back to the tent to sleep.

All of us were up at 0530h. We unpitched the tents and cleaned the campsite. Breakfast was not prepared as there was still alot of bread left. The bus came at 0715h and we bid farewell to belumut, the mountain which though we failed to conquer, we had different experience to share.

At 9 plus, we stopped at the pitstop again and had our breakfast. By 1100h, we were at the customs. At noon, we were back in AJ, where we started to clean the logistics. Unfortunately, it started to rain and we could not sun the tents outside. I think we finished cleaning up at 1500h. We had debrief, where we shared about the trekking, meals and packing.

Kenneth is going to be the president and Stacy the vice president for the 23rd ODAC committee!

And yupp. That was the Belumut expedition. I'm thankful that the leeches didn't attack me. The blood on yee han's shirt looked scary....and yes, the proposal was only a guideline for the trip. Many activities had to be changed on the spot. We have to be flexible.

I'm going on my first overseas ODAC expedition!! :) We're going to conquer gunung belumut in Malaysia! It will be a short trip, but nonetheless, it's still an expedition. We shall reach the summit! haa.

It's such a hectic week so far. Busy busy busy! Where has time flown to? And where has sleep gone to? How come the tests are coming in but not the relaxation part??

There's only 4 schooling days this week, but there are 4 tests!!!! Tests tests tests tests! All the tests come in suddenly! Maths test was on monday, in which I won't be able to get A! Sobs. No time to complete and careless mistakes! Sigh. Then there was econs test today, which I didnt have time to completely finish it. And tomorrow, it's GP! Luckily, the chemistry mock test is not done under classroom condition, but under the comfort of my home...

I went to watch When the Stranger Calls with yiting yesterday after school ended at 1715h. Isn't it crazy of us? Econs test the next day, school ended late and yet, we still rushed down to cineleisure to catch the movie.

And we really rushed down. The show was to start at 1745h. The timetable stated that the class is dismissed at 1715h, so by right, we could rush it down just in time for the movie. BUT, as usual, mr yeong released us late from lessons.

Sidetrack abit, I think our class shouldn't be 15 minutes late for a lesson. It's way overborad. Mr Yeong don't come to lessons on time, but he doesn't come 15 minutes late either. Being a long day, it's understandable if we spend 5 minutes dragging oursleves to class, but definitely not slacking around even after the bell has gone. And mr yeong has always been kind enough not to scold us when we are late for his lessons, since he is always late in coming to class. But it's all about the attitude. Is it right to keep the teacher waiting? Or rather, are we having the right mindset when we attend lessons? Do we attend classes bcause we want to learn new things, or is it because we have to be there? Wouldn't all lessons be a drag if the latter is the reaon?

Back to yesterday, so we left school at 1730h and ran all the way to the MRT. And at somerset, we ran all the way again. It was pouring heavily at somerset. And so, we entered the theatre 5 minutes after the show started at 1800h, drenched and cold.

When the Stranger Calls is a freaky show! Scary!! That psychotic guy is really mad! Go stalk woman and then kill them. Mad mad guy! Siao. But I wonder, how did that guy notice the woman in the first place? He makes such weird phone calls conservation too. So crazy! If I were that woman, I wouldn't even have the courage to go pick up phone calls after that same guy called so many times. And I won't think of calling the police either. In the end, the girl got so traumatised and had nightmares. And I got traumatised too! I kept screaming during the show. The sound effects is just too good. haa. Got scared after watching the movie too. The show made me realised that much as I like to think that all mankind do good, there are those who are evil and behaves in a way such that they enjoy hurting people, physically and emotionally.

I'm a lazy pig! Haa. Slept from 11pm on friday to 11am on saturday and then from 5.00pm to 12 midnight! How can I sleep so much?! I can't believe that I'm so deprived of sleep.

I'm feeling so guilty now. I've just finished updating the belumut proposal, but there's still other work to be done! My homework and tests!!

Things are looking more optimistic now. =)

I haven't been updating for a long time! Academic work and cca has been keeping me busy for the past few days...

Here's a summarised events of the past few days.

Saturday:
At 0800h, I met up with some odacians at tmapines interchange and from there, we took bus 19 down to changi village. Unfortunately, we overshot the bus stop and had to take another bus back. We actually alighted at where the army people would report to to go P.Tekong. =X. Anyway, since the number of odacians for our batch is large, we were splitted into 3 different groups. meiying, huizhen, rachel, fariha, nellyn, me, jonathan, jia chang and jin ken were in one group and Mr Ong was our coach. Jin Xin and Jia Ling, from the 20th comm, guided us along during the kayaking course. After the course, janathan, anthony, selina and I went to victoria concert hall to catch the dance concert. Dinner was at macs after the concert ended.

Sunday:
The second and last day of our kayaking course. We learned new skills, and realised that jia chang and jia ying are siblings. Aren't we wlos? haa. 11 of us went tampines bk after receiving the certification for dinner. And after that, we went home to rest our tired and drained body.

Monday:
Attended the Da Vinci seminar with jeremy and adrian at St Andrew's Catheral. Got to make new friends! The 'lectureer' was pretty interesting. After the talk, I met up with kenneth to discuss about the belumut expedition. Upon reaching home, I started compiling all proposals. It's not an easy task! I took around 8hrs to do it. And even then, the proposal wasn't perfect.

Tuesday:
Left school at 7 plus. I had to ammend the proposal and sent it to Chee Yong. After that, I had to finish up with my PI. Pretty tiring, staring at the computer for a long period of time. And how on earth did I fall asleep in front of the computer? Sorry Chee Yong, for making you wait for me so long for the edited proposal without knowing that I had fallen asleep.

Today:
There was odac, and we did store orientation. Odac actually ended early today, at 1800h! It's a first! We left school around 6 plus though. Weilin, Meiying, Henrietta, Yuan Han, Jonathan and I went for dinner at kfc after that.

The people around me (including me) are feeling pretty stressed up now, trying to judge time between academic work and cca. Jia you people!

Yes! I'm not touching the proposal today. I'll have to make the last changes to my PI and study for the physics test tomorrow though. boo.
