I feel so lost suddenly. And depressed. And tired. I wonder, have I made the wrong choice of going to aj? The distabce is really far, and physically, it's draining me out. Doing work in school helps, but going home late makes me totally wiped out. And not to mention that since I'm takinh 4 H2s, my lessons end late almost everyday. Now is only term 2, week 2.I need a recharge of my battery! It's dying soon. sleep. sleep. sleep. I need more of that!

I'm so tired. I want my sleep! Sigh. BUT, there is still work uncompleted. So I can't turn in so early. It's always an exercising day on wednesday. Although there's no PE, the lessons just had to be structured such that we must move between block 11 and block 4.Half the class actually went late for PW today, because we were watching the girls having PE run the 4 x 100m race. We got questioned for arriving late, but luckily, Jia Chang managed to think out of a reason for why the second batch came in so late. Thanks alot! And I got into ODAC! :) There's going to be 33 J1 odacians!Odac today was another team building games session. So basically, we played some games. One of them was poison ball, where you had to dodge a ball coming towards you. Another game was something to do with keypads. There would be 3 keypads. And different keypads requires different number of people to form a word. You have to use your hands and legs to touch the cardboard which has the alphabets of the word. It's quite hard to explain this game in words. A demostration would be clear any doubts.Hmm, I had to leave half-way through. There was a selection test for those people who were interested in participating in the maths olypmiad. And the paper was tough! There was only 12 questions, and I only knew how to do less than half the paper?! Haven't been practising maths questions for a long long time...And yesterday was another exercising day too! After chinese lesson, we (yt.sel.jeanice.shu xuan. ruo yi.me. jonathan. adrain. terrence. kah ho.) went pizza hut to have lunch. We thought that we would have plenty of time since we had a 1h 30mins break. However, by the time we finished our meal, it was 1500h. Our chemistry practical was supposed to start at 1515h. And by the time we settled the bill, it was 1510h. And so, we had to run from the pizza hut back to school, entering the chemistry lab feeling sweaty and hot.

Odac selection test today. It was an enjoyable and interesting experience! =)All potential JC1s odacians met up and 1630h at the map area. After that, we proceded to safekeep our bags, and had a short briefing by mr lim. We were then divided into 4 different groups. I ended up in group C. Heh. And then a long waiting time for group C! So in between, we played games. We were like the last group to leave 1028 classroom! I actually felt nervous then, but I supposed there's nothing to be worried about. Our group got mr chin as our 'accessor'. The whole group had to pitch up a 9-man dome shaped tent blindfolded and were not allowed to communicate. The scenario was that we were hit by a blizzard which means we had to pitch up the tent as soon as possible, within 10 minutes. At the same, the blizard blurred our vision and it was too noisy for us to communicate. And that's how we pitched up our tent. Of course, there were moments where one of our touch lights could operate and one of us could see. At other times, there would be a few people who could communicate. And we did it! We completed pitching up the tent! I'm so proud everyone. The root of success: teamwork. :)Towards the end though, I was pulled up by mr chin and could not make any noise. Apparently, I had fainted and lose consciousness in the snow. And my team, despite making head counts, still did not attempt to find me! Sigh. But then, I feel that this first experience of pitching up the tent has been a good effort put up by everyone. Everyone cooperated well. And this has is quite an eye-opener experience for me-first time pitching up a tent without looking! After that, we played a game where we had to cross the larva using cardboards and again, could not communicate. Due to time constraint, we were unable to complete the game and try out the other games. It was 1911h then. The results of the selection test will be up on the odac board tomorrow morning. I wanna be an odacian!Besides the odac selction test, my class went out for a class lunch today too! We went to naked fish, located at the grassroots club, for lunch. Their set lunch cost $6.50++, consists of a soup of the day, main dish, desert of the day and a drink. The food tasted not bad but the servings is abit small...and after the GST, service charge, you pay $7.50. Quite a good deal I guess.Class lunch today was...quiet initially. I guess perhaps cos we were sitting in separate tables and could not really communciate. After the meal, we hung out in the restaurant and played zhong ji mi ma. I actaully lost twice! Boo. And the food punishment, though was digusting in terms of it's appearence, did not taste as bad. And I realised today, that Cedar's tennis court was once struck by lightening. And that lightening bolt injured 2 people; one the tennis coach and the other, a cedarian.

When God approve of how you live your life, you will expereince happiness. And i'm happy today! Quite surprised too, that I actually did what I planned to do. But I glad I did. There's this sense of accomplishment. =)I completed 2/3 of my chemistry tutorial and the GP write-up. And went to glorify God! :)I'm pretty much amazed at myself. I can actually sit down for 2 hrs without any distractions and do my work! I can't remember the last time which I did that. And since I can do it today, it means that I can do it in future too!! Jia you!

Because of my busy school schedule, I have been neglecting God lately. HE's hardly my number one priority now. I spend more time in school now than I spend with him. And it's wrong! That should not be the case!God should be my first priority!School will be definitely be busy, but I should not forget about spending time with God too. And that's what I'm planning to do. :)

I
love fridays! It's a short short day. And time passes quickly. :)friday timetable:30 mins of civics.30 mins of break .1h of econs lecture1h of chinese.1h chem lectureand finally, 1h mass civics. No more lessons after that! So you see, that is why I like fridays. However, I'll be dreading friday when there are going to be tests in those lectures. Other than that, the lessons planned are a great way to end the week! =)But of course, although lessons end early, I can't go home that early yet. There's ODAC at 1630h. And in between, I have 4h of free-and-easy. I'll have to make good use of it by revising my work and not to idle time away doing nothing. I can do it!First period today passed quickly. Mrs Ho settled some administrative stuff and we could go after that. During break, our entire class just occupied the empty canteen and then went for econs lecture together. We mass chatted during the lecture. Someone started to pass around a piece of paper for us to 'chat'. The paper only came to me once though. And I wasn't paying attention to the lecture. I was instead, finishing up the econs homework. =X.Chinese lesson after econs was history lesson for our class. We learned about some of china's history, the differnt wars that took place and the discrimination which the chinese faced.Chemistry lecture was a quiet one, especially when all of us were busy copying. Whenever the teacher stopped talking, you didn't hear any sound expect maybe, a growling stomach? And all chemistry lectures are like that. There's hardly anyone talking. For mass civics, cherie came to our school and gave us another talk. Like adam khoo's workshop, cherie gave away money too-$4. Quite an entertaining talk. And I went to the dentist today. I'm now wearing radical red on my braces!ODAC. We had more fun games today! 3 games in fact. In the first game, you are supposed to pair up with another person and then either you or your partner had to be blindfolded. After that, the blindfolded person have to walk through the many obstacles placed around the designated area to reach another end, with the guided instructions from your partner. The blindfolded person is not allowed to touch any of the obstacles. Mainly, this game is a test of teamwork and clarity in giving instructions. If all the pairs operate individually, it would have taken a longer time to reach the other end. There would be a lot of nosies and it would be hard to listen to instructions from your partner. The blindfolded person will also face even more obstacles-the other blindfolded people who were also walking individually. On the other hand, if all the blindfolded people walk together as a group, with only one person giving instructions, the instructions would not be confusing at all.The seond game had 2 sections. The first was to ensure that all of your team members can stay inside a designated box for 10 seconds. And the box will get smaller after each round, making it harder for everyone to stay within the box. Learning point- we have to support one another. For the second part, it was untangle hands.
The last game was a test of IQ, somewhat similar to one of the games we played in O1. Everyone is to stand inside a hoola hoop which was placed in a straight line. In the middle there would be an empty hoola hoop. People standing on one end of the hoola hoop has to get to the other end of the hoola hoop and visa versa. The way to do that would be to have people from both sides standing in alternating position.

Term 2, week 1.
I got my timetable yesterday. Lessons gonna end pretty late almost everyday; monday-1445h. tuesday-1815h. wednesday-1345h. thursday-1715h. friday-1245h.
Looking at the time-table, I'm actually dismissed early on wednesday and friday. However, on both of these days, I have ODAC, which will end at 1830h (and most probably will drag). Sigh. Not that I'm not looking forward to ODAC, but then there's hardly a day where I'll get to go home early to rest, expect for monday.
I'll just have to make the best out of this situation! I'll have to practise proper time management. And self discipline.
Lessons in school hasn't been exciting so far this week. Plenty of lectures; project work, mathematics, chemistry, economics and physics. I think the only interesting thing would be the MBTI personality test which we did yesterday. The speaker, cherie lee, spoke very well and was entertaining. She used to work in adam khoo's company. It was quite an interesting test. You're being forced to make a decision out of the choices. What the test results said about my character is pretty true..I'm a ESTJ!
Got to meet some of my tutors today-phy, pw, econs, maths and gp. I'll be seeing my physics teacher aka my project work tutor (ST) aka teacher-in-charge of odac aka ms ng 5hrs or more each week. I'll be seeing my econs teacher aka my PDG tutor aka mrs ho every morning and 3hrs or more each week. Which means that I got to love both of them. Otherwise, I'll suffer.Oh well. mr yeong is my chemisty teacher again! =)

Been in town the whole day today. Met up with jacqueline, charmaine and cheryl at noon and window shopped with them. We went scotts to have lunch and then went taka to shop around. The 4 of us actually went into shops like tiffany and co. , gucci, guess...
Stepping out of those high priced shops, I have the urge to own some of their products. I would love, for example, to own one of the necklance inside tiffancy and co. Nice nice!! =X Needless to say, the price is also very nice. Hah. This makes me wonder too, whether there was a need to own such expensive products, be it an accessory or clothing. Does it really matter if you own branded goods?
I realise today too, that I have friends with extreme character. Shopping with squadmates, I would never have stepped into those high-priced shops. The thought would never have occurred to me. In fact, I have never thought of entering such shops until I shopped with jac today. NEVER. Such goods are a need, not a want, and will never become a want. It will never bevome a normal good either, unless singaporeans start earning $15K a month..econs!! Blah. And it's wrong to judge friends based on thier family's financial status.
Met up with 6E classmates in the evening at 1800h for dinner. I think more people were supposed to turn up, but then due to some reasons, afew of them did not turn up at the last minute. In the end, only 6 of us went for dinner together. joel, han jun, ling ling, shan yong, gwendolyn,me.
And meeting up with joel has had a positive impact on me. Makes me feel even more guilty about not mugging and that I should MUG. And joel, how can you forget your partner in primary 6??? Hmmph. I sat besides you for like a year??!!After dinner, 5 of us (gwen left after dinner) went to catch the movie nanny mcphee. It's quite a fairy tale like story, something which will never happen in real life. And then, we had supper at swensens'.If you were ever to order the topless 5 ice-cream sundae, NEVER try the pistachio almond flavour. It tastes horrid. It's green and tastes like medicine. You should however, order their U.S fries together with the sundae. When you order any ice-cream sundae, you can order the U.S fries at a cost of $3.80. Savings of $1.20! :) While yesterday I saw many of my friends, today was the teachers' turn. I saw mr alvin lim at hereen and ms joan chia together with ms wong mei ching at ps.

I'm feeling lazy and don't feel like updating my blog. Hah. But then, I shall be nice. Hee. =PThe teachers in aj did not mention that we need to revise our work during the march holidays, but then we do need to revise and catch up with our work. It's a responsibility, especially since you are going to continue with jc education and sitting for the 'A' level examination at the end of next year. However, since the start of the march school holidays, I haven't been touching my lectures notes. Okay, maybe perhaps on monday, when I was under the responsibility to. But then other than that, I HAVE NOT been touching my notes at all. So, guilty as charged.Monday. There was a make-up lecture for those who had not taken H2 physics during term 1, on the topic of kinematics. Being forced to be a peer tutor, I had to turn up for the 'lecture'. And there wasn't really any proper lecture. Firstly, the physics teacher came late, at around 0825 hr. And then when we went inside lt4, he just asked the students to do the tutorials and should they have any queries, to ask the peer tutor. He didn't go through kinematics at all.I think he thought that everyone knew and understood the topic. But then if that is what you assume, why bother to have a make up lecture in the first place? Isn't the lecture supposed to help those who have not done the topic at all?It was only until a student bought up the matter that some of the students did not have any idea what kinematics was about that he gathered those who did not study the topic to come to one corner and then he went through the topic with them. An oversight on his part. And the rest of the students who had went through the attempted the tutorial. The 7 peer tutors, including me, were supposed to help those who had trouble doing the tutorial. I wasn't really of much help as a peer tutor. Instead of assisting others, there will people who helped me to clarify my doubts instead (mainly the 2 guys from cckss, thanks alot!) . The 'lecture' was boring, but then I managed to learn new things. After the lecture, which ended way before noon, I went to Ohana. Had to help kenneth, who was helping his friend, to change blouses. Saw some councillors idling around and had a chat with them, all of whom commented that I looked like a malay. sigh. Number xx to say that I look like a malay. And one of them even commented that when I speak chinese, I speak english-chinese! =XWent j8 to meet yiting, shirlyn, serene and ariana at noon. We went long john silver to have lunch and then went to the optician to get yiting's b'dae present. She wanted a pair of spectacles. The shop sells cheap specs! Went town to meet up with yumei after that. Serene didn't go with us though; she wanted to go home to pack her lugguage for her tioman holiday. The rest of us shopped around in far east, window shopped mostly, expect for ari who bought a new set of outfit. When I say a new set, I really mean a new SET. She bought a new top, her first pair of jeans, a belt to go with the jeans, 2 pair of slippers and nearly bought a nike bag. And earrings too. Tuesday. -shh-. heh.Wednesday. Went out with shirlyn to make her spectacles at bishan and then to marina square to get her creative zen neon 5GB mp3. The newly opened creative store at marina square is selling a 5GB zen neon mp3 at only $259, valid from 6 mar - 25 mar 06, for the first 50 sets everyday. It's really cheap.Thursday. Went east coast park with kaze!! We had lunch and then biked for approximately 2 hours. Don't know what happened after that though, cos I left early. I went to meet up with rachael at nus to catch kelly poon's concert. Jie Ying happened to have extra tickets which she could spared us. It was held at nus cultural centre courtyard. The concert was short!! Kelly Poon only sang 4 songs...rachael and I got a pretty good view of her, since we were seated on the third row.And I saw so many people today! While stoning at ecp macs (getting bored to death waiting for yt and the others to arrive), I saw jiawen and jessica! They were with in ecp with 2 of their srjc friends. And then after a while, I saw 4 other cedarians-baohui, celene, yan fang and ---. They went to ecp too. And after some of the kaze people came, I saw sidney and his nj frens!! Their OG outing was at ecp also. Then while cycling, I saw weiling with her classmates roller blading! Shu Hui was at ecp also with her cousin. They were rollerblading. And Victoria was with her cjc friends. Later on, after returing our bikes, I saw jocelyn! She was in ecp with her family. At the kelly poon concert, I saw sihui and leehui! They went too. Si Hui won a chance to go watch the concert from YES933.3 . They were complaining that they waited for a long time to be admitted into the courtyard and couldn't sit at the front while rachael and I who went later could do so. Opps. Hah. Ohh, and there are people who are really crazy about Kelly Poon. This guy, X, who did not managed to get an autographed poster of kelly poon actually went to snatch an unautographed poster of her from another person. What happened: After singing 2 songs, kelly proceeded to give out 5 autographed people who answered questions correctly. X raised his hands for all of the questions that were asked, but wasn't given the chance to answer them. After the autographed posters had been given out, jiahui (the host) went off the stage so that kelly could sing another song. At the same time that kelly was singing the song, she threw 5 unautographed posters to the audience . Rachel caught the first poster!! Lucky her. When the 4th poster was thrown, a guy sitting behind us actually managed to catch the poster. But then X, who was sitting on the other side, suddenly came and snatched the poster from him!! It's such a crazy action. And it's not like X does not have the poster. He has. In fact, X bought along the poster. I wonder why he needs so many of her poster??? After kelly finished the song, jiahui came on stage again and commented about him snatching the poster too. Later on, just when kelly was about to leave the stage, X suddenly ran out to the front and shoved something (i think it's a card) to kelly. I would feel shocked if I was kelly. I wonder, does X stalk her?? I've never seen people getting so crazy over singers. This experience is a first.

Just got back from johor, pontian, today. Maybe the small 'holiday' wasn't as bad as I thought it would be? I thought I would be feeling quite sour through out the entire journey, but I was wrong. I didn't feel that miserable when i reached malaysia. (maybe because I knew that I had to accept the situation?)
During the 3 day stay, my bro and I stayed in the hotel most of the time. We didn't really attend the funeral cos there wasn't anything much to do either. At the funeral, we would just be doing our own stuff and didn't participate in the rituals at all.
Term 1 has come to an end now. Week 9 of term 1 was spend on orientation 2. Incendio got the best elemantal!! =)
Being an ogf has taught me certain things. In a way, it has made O2 more enjoyable for me. I made new friends, and got to experience being an ogf. It's not an easy job, definitely.
There was alot of administrative matters to settle to, especially on the first day of O2. You have to make sure that you've collected the right amount of money, taken all the attendance and called up those people who have not turned up. Which results in afew trips between HQ and the hall.
And then there's the people who want to appeal to other jcs. You will have to bring them to HQ after 1215 hr so report to the councillors that xxx is leaving. Then, you have obtain an early leave form from the councillors. After that, you wait for the teacher-in-charge to question xxx for some time (about why you are appealing etc etc). And then, you have to collect xxx belongings before you can go back to your elementii. And sometimes, your og people don't tell you all at one go that they're appealing to another jc. They wait until you've settled someone who has gone to appeal to another jc, and then tell you that they want to appeal to another jc. Which means more trip for you between the hall and HQ.
But all in all, my og people has been quite cooperative. Expect for one or two people who ponned school, the others turned up for school punctually. They could be pretty enthusiastic during games too.
Thanks fumar. You've been a wonderful og. I hoped that all of you have gotten to know one another better. Continue to keep in contact alright! :)

When things don't turn out your way, you will feel irritated. Which is how I'm feeling right now. Because my grandfather passed away, I can't go to school today. I can't celebrate crater's birthday tomorrow. And I can't participate in the vertucal challenge on sunday. I was really looking forward to all these activities. Anticipating myself having fun, enjoying myself. And yet, due to the turn of events, I can't participate in them. Is this a blessing in disguise or what? Somehow, I am just pissed off. If someone had told me earlier that we would be going into malaysia for 3 days until sunday, perhaps I won't feel as sad as I am now. But no, you just had to tell me that before I sleep that we would be going to malaysia for 3 days and not just today. All my plans are just ruined. How I wish that I have the tolerance to take all these things in my stride. To accept that I will miss out knowing j2s, to accept that I'm not spending crater's birthday with squadmates and to accept that I won't be participating in vertical challenge. But then again, I can't do anything about it can I? I can't protest that I don't want to attend the funeral can I? It's not right, isn't it? It's wrong not to attend your grandfather funeral. And I'm just going because my presence needs to be felt, and to pay my last respect?I just hate it when people force me to do things. i HATE it..................

Should I be feeling happy or sad? Initially, I told myself that even if I don't end up in vj and stay in aj, I'll feel happy. But now that the posting results are out, why is it that I don't feel happy at all?
I just feel disappointed. It's just hard to accept maybe? Because all along vj has been my dream jc. I have never thought of going to another jc besides victoria. However, my not so good prelim results has led to me ending up in aj. And it wasn't as bad as I thought it will be.
And now since I didn't get into vj, I should just accept the fact. And move on. I should. But I will need time to get over it. Maybe after a day or two, I will be fine. I shall not appeal.
After all, GOD knows where you'll grow best. and HE'll put you there. And I should trust him. And besides that, aj may provide me more opportunities than vj could.
At the end of the day, it is up to me whether or not to be happy or sad. In life, there'll be unhappy moments where you do not achieve what you want. And the world will not stop spinning just because you're not contented. Life has to go on.
It all lies in the mindset, doesn't it? If I believe that I can excel as well even if i stay in aj, then I shall. And I will not regret. And after all, I have been to vj before too.and here's something to share -
Lord, please grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can, and Wisdom to know the difference.

How time flies!! It's the end of the first 3 months after today, officially. Whether or not I continue to stay in aj, I know that I will miss the time I've spend with my friends for the past few weeks. The pass 9 weeks spend in aj has been a wonderful experience. There were many ups and downs. Sometimes it was fun, sometimes it was exciting and sometimes it was boring.I will definitely miss my friends; my classmates, cedarians in aj, odacians, fuego, ajcians..Thank you for making my life at aj such a fun-filled enriching one. =)The end of a chapter of my life. And from next week, it will be the start of another new chapter. We'll all have to move on. Learn to adapt to the new environment, make new friends, start to get busy with school work..And while we move on, we have to leave behind what we have done for the past 2 months. But they will always be stored in our previous memories, kept dear to our heart.Be it-- mr yeong treating us to pizza for lunch, him sponsoring and bringing all the food for our class bbq at sel's house, avishek falling into sel's pond, watching I Not Stupid Too and crying together, mr tham completing an hour's tutorial within 16 minutes and then allowing us to play *ahem*, flying our own own-made aereplanes in the hall for the physics challenge, running together in pe, laughing during chinese lessons, taking class photos in the foyer, all the scandals, decorating the reading room as our CIP project, sitting in the library doing chinese, making a class cny card..Be it--watching the video done by the J2s, running around amk park to complete all the stations, dinner as a group at kfc, bouldering, abseiling, rock climbing, knots and lashings, field cooking, tent pitching, games, ice-breakers, bonding...Be it--revising work in the reading room, slacking around in nexus, ohana and the canteen, listening to ning xia, doing work at the canteen, ruuning together, playing games in the computer lab, going for the ogf interview, having meals together, walking around the school compound, waiting for each other outside aj every morning.. I'll remember them all!! And there are many many more..especially the times spent with yt, sel and ari..I'll treasure them. They are very very precious.

MIDNIGHT!/ Wednesday, March 01, 2006
The last odac session for the J1 jae intake students. Wednesday. 1 march 06. Attendence of approximately 26 people. We did an adventure race today.Venue: amk park. Time allocated: approximately 3hrs. 3 stations. Team 5. jy. ari. kenneth. javier. me.Our first station was games! Station masters: Ching Yi and Jia Sheng. We had to get the bottle of water out of the boundary without crossing the line. And then after that we had to play this thinking maths game. Had to face our backs and then one by one, we would go to the numbers and signs to pick one and then from an equation to get a particular number.2nd station: tent pitching. Station masters: Wan Hui and Tai Yong. We had to pitch up a dome shaped tent and a 9-men tent in 30 minutes. Our team didn't managed to set up both tents by that time, but we did manage to completed the dome shaped tent and the inner sheet of the 9-men tent. Shortage of manpower..but we did find a way to work around the manpower problem. And that area has mosquitoes. Lots of it.3rd and last station: pioneering. Station masters: Keith and Teck Hao. We had to come up with our own idea of a chair using 6 spars and 8 manila hemps. Which we did! We completed the structure in under 20 minutes! The structure was stable and good. *grins*Team 5 reached back to aj first! Wee. And we got a good rest while waiting for the others. After the others had returned, we had debrief and then the J2s showed us a video of what we had gone through for the past odac sessions. Quite meaningful. After being offically dismissed from odac, we went to play bball. I just watched the game. Hah. Tired. And some of us went for dinner together with the J2s after that at KFCs, where we crapped lame jokes. The time spend in odac has been really meaningful. I'm thankful that I've made so many new friends there. It has been an enriching epxerience. I may have learnt most of the hard skills which they have taught, but nonetheless, I have learnt new stuff too, such as taut line. Odac has exposed me to more oudoor life. I may be used to it, but there were many new experiences which I did not have a chance to experience in secondary school....
