Maybe it's because I slept at 0100 this morning. Or maybe it's because I didn't hear my alarm clock ring. Whatever it is, I must have been so tired that I overslept and woke up only at 0640, which equates to taking a cab to school in order to be on time. And somehow, cabs only appear after 0700, when the extra surcharge for peak hours begin. What a waste of $11.40.Having woken up when the sky became visibly brighter, I knew immediately that I was only left with the alternative of taking a cab to school. I didn't feel like doing it. I felt tempted not to attend school today. Then I wouldn't have to take my chem test at all either. Fortunately or unfortunately, conscience got the better of me in the end.I did study for the chemistry test today. Sadly, my memory failed me just when I need it the most-during the test. I know I'm gong to fail with 'flying colours'. Yet another disappointing test this year. :(But, despite all the unhappy happenings today, it's not such a horrible day. We had the opportunity to hear our friends present an interesting and enriching economic theory. about the link between soccer and econs. Kuodos to them for the amount of time and effort they spent to prepare for this competition.ODAC. We put up college day decorations as well as did some staircase training in preparation for the june expedition today. You would think that putting up a banner in the school hall is an easy task. In reality though, it's not. We actually took an hour plus just to put up one banner there. The 24th comm exco list is out now. Congrates to those who have been given the positions. Learn to make good use and benefit from what you have been assigned and don't misuse it.There was a pre-u sem meeting yesterday and we were shown AJC's presentation on our given topic : Branding Singapore. Ms Leong and Mrs Chong sat in to listen to the presentation as well. Feedback was given by both of them after that...there's both positive and negative comments. Hearing comments from both of them as well as some of the students made me realise that my thinking is not as mature or broad base (the right term to use?) as I initially thought it was. The different perspectives I heard was something that I've never thought of before. It was a somewhat of a higher level; looking at the way they analyse what was presented. And it's something that I'm learning. I'm looking forward to pre-u sem! It'll be a whole new experience I'm sure. =)
Belumut expedition. It's 51 weeks late, but the 9 of us from the 23rd comm reached the summit, together with the 24th comm as well as super seniors. :)On friday night, we stayed overnight in school. After briefing ended, the 20th comm had a surprise birthday celebration for jia ying. What happened was certainly unexpected, but pleasant and interesting. After opening the creative presents which the seniors got for her, she was thrown into the fountain. While j1s slept, us the j2s had a dicussion with mr chin till around midnight before we turn in. Even then, I couldn't get to sleep. Perhaps it's bcos of the hard table. On saturday, we woke up at 0330 so that we could have a nice cold bath. At approximately 0500, we set off. The 9 of us, kenneth anthony jia chang jonathan vincent siti meiying stacy and I, sat on a mini van all the way. We had a fun journey there! yays. Before reaching the immigration checkpoint at tuas, all of us just slept on the van. It was comfortable sleeping in there becos I got to lie down at the back seat! heehee. At the singapore immigration, I used this machine that didn't require any one to man it. You just have to put your passport through this machine and get your fingerprint read. Then proof! You're through. At m'sia, we continued to sleep all the way until we reach the rest stop. After having some food, we became more energetic and stayed awake. So, we were duly rewarded with the number of singaporean sports cars that we saw speeding past us. The design of the cars were cool! 10 years down the road, I shall be inside one of these cars! haha. Fast forward to the trek, the guys did decided to teleport all the way to the summit. The video which meiying did is super funny! The odac rangers. lol. This time round, the trek wasn't as tiring as compared to last year. I suppose I'm physically fitter now. After 4 hours of trekking with a few breaks in between, we finally reach the top! *claps* It's a nice view up there, especially when you're standing from the stone. 4 hours later, we were back at the base and bade goodbye to belumut.
23rd comm.
teleport! After cleaning ourselves, we boarded the mini van/coach, which board up to another rest stop for dinner. By then, it was already 8 plus! The food there wasn't very cheap! It cost around the same price as Singapore...
contented with reaching the summit! With our stomach filled, we boarded the van again for a intense dicussion about marriage. Mainly, it was between the guy who wants to have alot alot of kids and the guy who refuse to get marriage because it requires him to sacrifice his privacy (think kenneth and jc). The dicsussion was super funny! Alot of assumptions made here and there...ultimately, jc didn't change his mind, but I think he'll be the first to get married in future.By the time we reach Singapore, it was close to 11pm. The van bought us back to ajc and then I went home. Though I reached home at 11 plus, it wasn't until 1plus that I went to sleep. I wanted to wash everything first. And that rest was 12h long.
